Things you will need:
(1) Jiffy Peat Pellets (Tomato Greenhouse) the refill box. Spent about $4.50
(2) Bowl or cup
(3)**optional** CaMg+ also know as CalMag. (General organics brand calls for 1 teaspoon a gallon for light feeding and 2 teaspoons for heavy. Which I use 1 teaspoon a gallon starting off.)
(4) Water (Your choice of water. I use well water)
Steps:
(1) Mix up the water and CaMg+ in your gallon container (milk jug). Just use whatever your brand calls for for a gallon. Keep in mind as the plant grows you can use this water to water the plant.
(2) Pour the water in the cup or bowl. Then add a Jiffy Peat Pellet. Then wait for the pellet to expand.
(3) Then squeeze the pellet once expanded to drain some of the water.
(4) Take a pencil and dig a hole in the hole in the net about 4-5 centimeters.
(5) Drop in your preferred seed. Now cover it up.
Now you can take that expanded pellet and put it in a dark humid place and check every 24 hours (not every 5 minutes newbies) for progress. Once the seed is fully off the leaves then it is ready for light. Keep in mind to make sure the pellet stays moist.
My homemade propagator:
Go buy a Jiffy Pellet Dome and put the expanded pellet inside with your planted seed. Spray the top of the dome with water. Then put the dome on. Cover it with 1-2 folded towels for darkness. Then set it on a heating pad on low. Make sure to keep it running because mine goes off every hour.
Any questions or suggestions leave me a reply.
