It looks like to me most of the black racers are on the east coast drag racing motorcycles. They like real fast bikes, look up Pro Star motorcycle drag racing and you will find what you are looking for. Nascar takes a big commitment and a lot of money so it weeds out a lot of folks black or white..

ever heard of lewis hamilton? not nascar, but he's a black man,races in formula 1 for mercedes also happens to be, well, in second place atm in the wdc, world driver's championship, behind his team mate, and will more than likely win the whole thing, again, he was wdc in 08.. so yeah, so much for black people not being able to drive..

i think that's pretty obvious that nascar is about as racist of a sport as you can get, well, maybe next to golf.. nascar might even be worse though, look how it was founded, a bunch of good old boys running moon shine in the south.. is it really shocking that old, southern men tend to be racist? i'd think not

i'm sure as far as f1 goes, it used to be a sport for the uber rich.. it was always mostly all super upper class, white men who were bored with their lives, and had to the money to buy exotic cars and go racing around the world in them..
it's still a sport for the uber rich, excpet now a lot of the money comes in the form of sponsorships by the likes of oil giants, and governmental backing for a few drives, such as pdvsa..
hamilton just happened to get discovered by ron dennis, owner of mclaren group, as a kid, in go karts, and has been financially backed by mclaren for years..

The difference is most, if not all, of what you mentioned are open wheel cars. Open wheel cars cannot touch.
I am not a fan of any racing, I just don't like it that much. But nascar is a superior product to F1 in my mind. There is more money and more world wide popularity with F1, I'll grant you that. But those cars hardly ever manage to pass each other.
A little task for you, go compare the number of average race leaders in a Nascar cup race and a F1 grandprix race.
To someone who dislikes most all auto sports, nascar is watchable because it is more exciting. The cars are not as fast, the women aren't as pretty, but the racing is better.
