Oh no you didn't....(head bob and finger wag). You just called me the L word. If you've read my other posts on this topic I hope you'll see that there is a method to my madness.
I try to posit questions or make statements that are often not very popular and unspoken for fear of disapproval on the board.
I do it because I am a firm believer that all aspects, all arguments need to be brought forth (regardless if I believe in their fundamental merit or not), before any judgement is passed. In this particular instance we've come to a consensus that there has been very little if any study done on the effects of irradiation on cannabis and that a thorough study should be done. There is wide ranging speculation and unsupported statements being made on both sides of the spectrum. Until an independent, peer and public reviewed examination is conducted, we're just slinging mud one way or the other.
As producers, as end users we need to have firm facts upon which we can make our decisions, not only in this extremely sensitive and important topic, but in all aspects of the system.
As a producer, I don't feel comfortable with the notion of irradiation, I just don't know enough about it. I think that a thorough study, a sound labeling system, and caution is in order here.
I'm not here to win popularity contests, I don't need to kiss anyone's behind and always say what is PC on the forum, I'm here to learn, pose questions, share my knowledge and contribute in some small part to a better understanding of the issues we face. If I have to take the role of the devils advocate sometimes, so be it.
