Quietest exhaust fans by Panasonic!

Tired of your noisy ass exhaust fans? I discovered this line of fans a few years ago and have become the proud owner of 4 so far!

Since they are more similar to a squirrel cage blowers compared to a centrifugal fan they are better at pushing air than pulling air through ducting but can still be used either way!

I have them suspended from joists using thick rubber bungee straps so what little vibration there is isn't transferred into the structure of the house. FYI it isn't recommend to use speed controllers on these motors.

They even make an 8" model but I think that one may produce 2.1 sones which I am unfamiliar with but would be interested to hear the largest one running.

I've had the 240 cfm model for years and it's not really that quiet. I think my expectations were too high, the reviews on amazon said it was almost silent which is definitely not true. Actually, my air movement is louder than the fan itself.
Still, it's quieter than most can fans and its been running ffaithfully for years.
Also, it's big. if you're growing in a tight space check your dimensions.

$180?? I think I can get a Vortex or Hurricane for less than that.
Panasonic reputation vs Vortex reputation? Panasonic yes please! Then buy one, but if you concern yourself with stealth you know what is worth it and what isn't. No one knows I have a significant setup because it doesn't make a peep. And I love it that way! I like doing things the right way the best way the first time. I have centrifugal fans but they do not get used because they make enough noise to risk that piece of mind. I even tried build boxes around the vortex to reduce its noise and using mufflers but that did little to nothing as most of the noise travels through the ducting! The Panasonics do not need mufflers. You could hear the noise outside the house where the ducting goes with the centrifugal fan but not a peep with the Panasonic. When you put a speed controller on the fans they hummmmmmm.
I bought all mine used like new from Amazon for around $80-90.
Some people are cheap and or lack planning which in turn will leave them left to deal with those nosy people who concern themselves with certain noises/smells.
The Thread is "quietest exhaust fan". If you want to cut corners with your own setup go ahead  not my style!
