I have found that yield depends on a lot of variables. Mainly veg time and training. When I started growing 10 years ago, I was to anxious to get to the finished product. So everything was rushed! 3 week veg cycles and I followed the flowering times the breeders put on the pack. BIG MISTAKE if you're trying to yield large amounts of premium cannabis. Now I yield more off one plant than I did with 3 back in those days. No Bullshit! I have asked hundreds of questions read many articles and watched tons of videos to get where I'm at now. My last pull was Kosher Kush, grown under 400mh/hps. Vegged 5 weeks. Topped to create 4 mains (Uncle Bens Technique) Then I LST those 4 mains out to the edge of the pot. Ended up with 12-13 tops with a few more smaller branches. 70 days flower. Grown in a 4 gallon pot modified to aid in LST'ing with screws completely going around pot. Yielded 5.5 oz's from that girl. And by the way, Kosher Kush is an average yielder!
Now think what can be achieved with a supposedly heavy yielder! Currently have an HSO Em-Dog that was vegged for 6 weeks. She is 2 feet x 2 feet in diameter with 18- 20 tops and a few smaller branches! She is flowering under 250hps due to warmer season and closet being warmer. Topping, Supercropping, Scrogging are methods that will change your views on what a plant is capable of. I got over 4 oz's off a Kandy Kush in 2011 and I didn't top! Just LST. All under a 250! I plan on getting into the Scrog thing. From what I have seen, it is the best way to get MAX yield. Mainly in smaller spaces. By the way, I grow for personal use and those smaller wattage bulbs provide me with more than enough of Gods Natural Medicine! Something to ponder. Just my 2 cents!
