oh my........I didn't see that pic of the root-ball........lol. that's ready for a 5gal. bucket.
really! Well this is my situation. Im eventually moving outdoors and i have a limited amount of growing space in my closet until then. so i cant really do 5gal buckets unless i move them outside right now. can only go lil wider but mostly deeper
so will it be alright if i just remove all that side soil and root to just the middle ball root. i know it bad for them and everyone says i shouldnt but can i do it and they survive?

Thanks for the reply I didn't use any herbicides so shouldn't be it. and there is a couple inches max between top of plants/ lights and walls
no, not you using herbicides, the WORLD, it's commonly sprayed everywhere, and it only takes a speck to contaminate the growing medium. It occurs during their mixing/and/or production of the soil. My theory anyways

I got a shiny new silver dollar that says they perk back up.
Best advice yet. Plants often flag after transplant. It has to do with loss of root mass and an inability to rehydrate fast enough with the remaining roots. to reduce wilting you can remove some of the canopy but even if you don't the plant perks up again in a few days. You're growing a weed not a fussy perennial.

Oh and dont ever fuck wit the roots man, what i do when i transplant is put a few inches off dirt (depending on potsize) i use 3 gals so i put about 6 inches of dirt with extra perlite and water that. Add the rest of the dirt and then put my ladies in there as carefully as possible without disturbing the roots. The roots will quickly expand outta the old dirt in search for water which is at the bottom, i do it with autos without any shock at all.
Transplanting auto would take balls lol and no stress that rocks
