do roots in water need a airstone constantly?

I know absolutely nothing about Hydro grows but I do know that
when dealing with plants you do not want airless standing water in any situation so I would keep the airstone going at all times to continuously bring oxygen to the root system imo.
Hopefully some others will chime in with an answer.

If roots are in water then, yes, air stone needs to run.

if the water has motion / flow/ movement then no air stone is needed NFT works well without air pumps
if the water is still without any kind of movement it will need to be very shallow and allowed to evaporate
perhaps daily or at least pretty quickly or root problems could occur
passive hydro works well this way without air pumps

Just curious but why would you not be feeding your plants?
i feed it periodically it has plenty to feed off of right now.

If your running a hydro system,the water should already be enriched with nutes already
also i need to get my timer for my pump
it is just was asking if the air stone is needed to keep the roots that have reached the water from rotting

Right, but if you have roots you need nutes.
there is
mine def needed the oxygen. it looked like it was suffocating

also being able to give the plant those high levels of oxygen is one of the main benefits of growing hydroponics versus conventional methods.
