Strange smell just before harvest :/ mold or bud rot

This is the plant I'm smelling something dodgy , been worried bout mold for the past week and wanted to chop last weekend , but decided to wait one more week , now I'm smelling the stink of rotting buds or something :,(
Here's a few pictures , think I'm best to chop it ASAP what do you think ? It's almost 8 weeks flowering

once i had a large caterpillar burrowing on the inside of a bud. i was able to cut away the damaged and infected area and continue with the grow. GL

I've just cut off a couple of the top buds to see what's it looking like but after trimming them they seam ok no mold or rot on them ones at least , but they were very very dry ! Is this not good I'm guessing ? Before I cut the rest down should I do another flush to maybe get them a bit more wet before cutting them down or what ? Or will that encourage more chance of problems with mold etc ? And what do I do with trim ? Do I let that dry some more before I do something with it or do I need to do something straight away if I want to make some hash etc ?

Sometimes root rot or algae in pots will smell a little off.

If it's root rot will that start to move up to the buds quickly ? An if so is it best to chop straight away do you think ?

And did u find out why it smelt ? What did the buds turn out like ? Did they stay smelling bad after drying an curing ?

It was last 3 weeks of budding that smell came only when light went out the bud when I put nose to them smelt nice but the entire room would smell like sewer na after cure bud was fine durig light on was fine apprently lights off plant exhale and some strains smell so my friend told me if I was u id chop off a bud and open it right up have a good look with ur scope and put in a paper bag on ur ballast box for abou 4 to 5 hours and smoke it I used dutch masters gold nuts and thought was my res or my roots but after I chopped and pulled roots out they was fine as and when I emptyed my res no smell I looked it up apprentyl it happens but if u putti ur nose to it and it stinks id be worryed 2 good way to get rida mold is to put a fan direct on u bud site or so ive read hope I have helped

I've just cut few tops off and put them in brown envelope but they are feeling so dry already . I don't smoke it myself but might try it to see if it's ok ,

Do they smell ok now there chopped u could spilt some water from res on floor might be moldy

I pull them out to water an leave them to drain for ages after out of the tent , the few buds I did cut smell ok just concerned how dry they were . I have a feeling it's stink coming from the roots or soil . At least it's not the buds that have turned to mush

Root rot will start showing from the bottom up. Leaves start dying from the stem out toward the buds. Lower branches will start turning yellow/brown and drying out. If it's progressing up toward the good buds I'd chop. Hard to tell you without being their and seeing how it's effecting your plants. If it is root rot cut back on the water. There are some cures for it. I believe hydrogen peroxide solutions have been used. Be careful using H P, do some reading and research first. Hopefully this isn't what your dealing with.

no mold there, you'd see wilted fan leaves if there were. probably some other kind of funkiness.

once your ready to harvest cut the biggest bud in half . if there is mold it will be on the biggest buds. inside . usually . so you cant tell . if its grey or black mold DONT SMOKE IT . if it has. the buds pictured look good to me .

Yes I'm happy with the way they all look , and checked them with my scope and there all ready to chop now so I think alls ok , yesterday I checked the top buds right through and there isn't any thing wrong at all just really crystaley which I worried was maybe mold but defo not so I'm chopping them as soon as I have time hopefully today
