Humic Acid? Is it worth it, what does it do?

I have the natures solution myco mix with humic and fulvic in powder form it looks like wood ashes. Not sure if it makes a difference yet but I'll let you know. I have organics in the medium already but I feed with synthetics.

I have just the academic studies on the use of humates and the increase in yield was anywhere from 21-55%. I will say in my experience that they are overpriced and too diluted in bottle form. I bought a 1lb bag of it in powder form for 12 bucks. Use it 2-3 times. http://www.teravita.com/Humates/Chapter3.htm
I agree, but not 100%.
A Humic or a Fulvic will still carry the nutrients into the root system. Even at lower concentrations, This relative action will still happen. Just at lower levels.
I have found that Sea Green IS an exception to that, as the concentrations of the Humic and Fulvic acids are high and why you are directed to use small amounts.....I made the rather rookie mistake of trying it at the full listed dose. Over fertilization came on quickly. I reduced the amount of both the nutrients used and the amount of Sea Green by 50% and found the happy zone.
I would suspect that the amounts of the powdered Humic can give the same type of result. So care should be taken when you use it.

I'm interested. How much do you use at a time and do you know what the concentration is with that amount in relation to the "big name" liquids? What is 2-3 times and when?

Thanks in advance.

I agree that they are powerful and I use them when my plants are first able to eat 450ppm. Then again after they get used to the bloom flip (7 days in) and again once the buds start really developing (day 35). I decrease my nutes by 20% when I apply it.

Hmm,,,What is the amount you use per gallon? This will give me a baseline to figure the concentration level and compare that to the liquid pre-mades......You raised a point that I'm rather interested to study a bit.
