Your PH is right, The only thing you have to do really are find well balanced nutrient solutions, that will have trace elements of calcium and magnesium. One of the things that soft water does, is remove Calcium and Magnesium. The things that make water "hard".

and i dont care if you use dolomitic lime or cal mag liquid its the same thing except the liquid drops your ph a lot where the lime doesnt. its always neutral so you cant use to much and also its almost imposs to give a plant to much cal so good luck

No signs of pests from what I can see without a microscope.

They are indoors under 400W MH

They are being fed with Canna coco a&b 20ml in 10 litres every three days or so.

Would a calcium deficiency cause holes in leaves like that?

brush the bottom of those yellowing leaves in third pic, onto a white piece of paper, and look for moving specks, just to humor me :)

Yeah this figures. I had held off micronutrients while they were young but they are ready now - too ready it seems!

Thanks all for the quick, helpful responses, I really appreciate it.

I am relieved that at least I don't have a mite problem! I was terrified when I saw the situation this morning!

it will never go higher then 7 which is fine of course slightly acidic is best but your liquid nutes will drop that back down alittle. just forget the lime if you dont feel comfortable with it use egg shells it really doesnt matter

Even if you had mites, especially on that small of a plant, you can rinse them off, or use a little Cold pressed neem oil, and follow the directions.. You can use it in your watering or in foliar feeding.

It kills all bugs that eat the plant, dead!

Righto, thanks DonAlejandroVega and BenFranklin, I feel reassured and appreciate your help. Love RIU!
Will report back in a few hours when I have had a chance to visit the hydro shop, refeed them and do the mite check.
To be sure - to feed the calmag / micronutrients, given I watered them with feed this morning, what should I do?
Water til runoff with just calmag?
Water til runoff with feed and calmag?
Just add a little water with calmag?
Or something completely different? :) always rather be sure than blunder in then come back on here to be told "Oh no! You shouldn't have done *that*!"

Little update, bloke in shop reckons holes like that must be caused by bugs, so I have bought some pyrethrum to tackle it from both ends. Ultimately I guess it can't hurt to spray with pyrethrum as a preventative measure if nothing else!

I also got some "magne-cal" boost stuff so I will give them all a rewatering with that later.

It should be noted the plants haven't had a flush for over a week, though I water until runoff so I don't know how important that is. I will next flush them after I return from two day's vacation

update a week later, I think / hope the problem has gone away thanks to the pyrethrin.

The cal mag overdosed my plants even at low concentration so I have removed that from the equation, and am just feeding now:

canna a&b
canna rhizotonic
cannazyme

They are now monster bushes.
