1 tsp to 1 tbsp per gallon, can be used in all growth stages. Grandma's isn't blackstrap molasses, though. Blackstrap (like Plantation Blackstrap) has a lot more potassium, minerals.

Only use it in soil. It feeds the microbes. Sometimes using molasses will create a crust at the surface of the soil. Before you water be sure to break up the surface of the soil.

I have heard it is great (blackstrap).Tried on early grows. Can not say if it helped. But since I stopped using it, I have not had a single gnat in my tent. Just me but true...

Ok here are the different stages of molasses being made. From this you can determine what you think is best by preference .

Purest form of the sugarcane process is light molasses
  • Light molasses is made from the first boiling of the cane or beet juice.
Second purest form of the sugarcane process is dark molasses
  • Dark molasses comes from the second boiling of the cane or beet juice.
Third purest form of the sugarcane process is blackstrap Molasses
  • Blackstrap Molasses is made from the third and final boiling of the molasses.
Usulphured vs. Sulphured Molasses
Sulphured molasses is molasses that has been treated with sulphur dioxide as a preservative. However, since the sulphuring process can leave the molasses with a strong pronounced chemical flavor and is less sweet.

Or you could just use pure sugarcane juice......Experiment
