Nirvana's Jock Horror/Urban Poison & Durban Poison.

Greetings fellow weedlings,

I'm planning my first small DWC grow in a few months & am looking at Nirvana's Jock Horror. I read that its a really good strain if you're looking to avoid the complete comatose effect since it's sativa dominant. Does anyone know the sativa/indica ratio? I considered the Durban poison (100% sativa) but its too tall & I worry in case its too much of a 'buzz' effect. I think I've only ever tried indica's (or 50/50s) so I suppose if I like the Jock Horror then I could try the Durban Poison in future or maybe Nirvana's hybrid version 'Urban Poison'. In any case I'm curious as to what some people think of these strains.

If you loved the DP why not continue with it...is the right strain hard to get? I saw dutch passion have it.

jock horror is a knock off of jack herer..they did the same with black jack,crossing "black DOMINO(not domina) with jock horror(not jack herer)..i noticed this years ago whe i was growing out real blackjack..this leads me to believe this could be a shady company..my 2 bits..good.luck.

Cheers for the post mate...don't suppose there's an updated list of good seed companies to buy from? what I found on the net though is that Nirvana look legit & their jock seems pretty known although as you say its based on the jack. I'm completely new to this game so dont know...too much variety

If your new to the game then you don't need to deal with politics. Find something you want and try it out, that is the only to tell if you like something yourself is to try it. Some may say this guys got the real or that guy has the deal but in reality what really matters is what you personally invest into it. If you give your plants the time and care they deserve your end product will be amazing regardless of seed vendor.

They may not be an exact replica of what your looking for but if your a perfectionist go for the clones.

yea its all up you as to wich strain to go with,but like to decide on things after hearing some info or reviews..going blind into any situation is,well,not smart..
there are hundreds of seed companys,all might have a bad review here and there,but the ones who stay in the constant spotlight of negative attention and reviews,i stay away from...
if youre looking for breeders,id reccommend sannie and his crew,classic,or look aound riu for other suggestions..information is key.

for instance,i wish i.had known about the immense hermie issue a certain breeder had..i didnt know,grew his gear,and yes,got herms..then found out its not common,its almost STANDARD to have issues w his gear...

^--- that is true, perusing for information can stop you from having issues like that. However I wouldn't take anyones advice who is totally ragging on a company. You gotta take a majority view, but even then I have found some golden goats in some haystacks.

I like Durban for it's 8 week flowering time and purple stripes.
Try the Magic version of Durban, 12 pack for 25 bucks and more purple pheno's.

The thing is even though Ive smoked for years I never knew what kind...I would just buy whatever was available. Now that I can grow my own stuff its hard to choose a strain because of all the variety but as you guys say its a case of trying out some yourself. Will keep digging for info...buts its all interesting, wish I started years ago though

oh yeah man i was just like you like 2 years ago but im my experience nirvana is pretty good i grew some master kush of thiers and injoyed it and now i got thier bubble gum and master kush going outdoor plus they got some decent prices

Alright great skunk, good to hear about your experience with Nirvana. So much shit to choose from...but im planning to grow in Sept so have got plenty of time to ponder. I read good reviews about master kush & bubblegum as well as their Chrystal. But im tempted towards an easy grow/indoor sativa dominant strain because im pretty sure ive never tried those before & the Jock seems to fit the bill right now but might change my mind...actually last week I was set on AK48, then I changed to Chrystal & now its Jock...go figure

oh yeah the chrystal is good got a friend that grows it indoors hes been growing it for 10+ years that and ww are the only thing he grows now

just recently talked to him bout it he said shes pretty easy to grow indoors shes not too picky bout nutes but she does stink some a carbon filter may be needed oh and he does soil

ohh and i would like to try thier ak48,white rhino, and wonder women lol thats next on the list

Very cute pic Did you grow it outside & is it similar to durban poison & sativa? I see they have it at 'seeds of africa' but ive never heard of them.
