I gave the dude other teks and what works for me ...KISS method goes along way,,,,So since you know it all tell me why he would PC the manure verse pastuerize and kill all the beneficial bacteria? Next, maybe he can take himself to shoomtalk.com and read somemore to and educate himself with just as much as shroomology......hell what would I kno bad bad advice I guess

I'm going to try the Popcorn Tek for colonizing jars. I will use Rez tek for bulk. I will use composted cow manure and gypsum with the colonized popcorn for 50% and vermiculite for the other 50%. Fruiting in 6 quart dubtubs. Have 3 dubtubs and will make 1 quart of spawn for each. Thinking I ought to get 3 more dubtubs so i can do use a full syringe to inoculate 6 jars rather than risk contaminating half syringe or using too much.
Is it feasable to use 1/2 a syringe? or is it a one time use thing if you want to minimize contamination?

As long as you sterilize tip gas flame dont let air in cap bag and stick in dark room temp drawer........But that may be bad advice

Meant to tell you your substrate mix good but thats NOT the REZ TEK...Rez tek spawns to 100% vermiculite Its ratio is 1:1(however much seed/popcorn is how much verm) ...its pinned with pics ...and theory of how it works on shroomtalk.com type it into search....

I am not going to go through this thread and quote every piece of bad advise. It would take too much time. What BeastGrow is getting is a bunch of pieces of advice that he has to put together like a puzzle. A lot of the pieces to the puzzle are not good. I gave him a tek that works. It is good for a beginner to learn with and it works every time if you follow the directions period. I have used it so many times i can do it in my sleep. I see a lot of over thinking on here when it comes to shroom growing. Like the spring water thing. Why spring water? Do you think the microbes in it will benefit the grow. It will not. I would only use distilled water when misting your tub because the chlorine in tap water can bruise the shrooms bad. I have experienced that before. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Like someone on here said earlier; emulate someone who has succeeded before you. Use the dubtub tek. Don't add anything to it and don't take away anything either. Just follow the directions and you will have shrooms.

Don't open the jars mate. I shake once after inoculation and that's it. I don't like mono tubs because there is almost no air circulation and the moisture is pulled from the casing. Placing a tray, on a rack, inside of a larger tub will allow air to circulate all around the tray. Moistened geolite in the bottom of the tub will keep humidity up and keep your casing from drying out as fast.

First, Im going to pretend for one minute you didnt insult me ...Two, I would say read back ya kno to part were I said i been doing this off and on for about 10 -11 years....(emulate suucess shit..ha)...Three, I do agree with all he has to do is copy people who have succeeded before him and LIKE FARMER has said there about 30 DIFFERENT ways to get the same RESULTS. You my frien as JOHN ALLEN would put it are a PURISTS who thinks your way is the only right way...and you should check that...WHAT BEAST NEEDS TO DO is go to several different mushroom forums not a weed forum to get MUSHROOM advice....I myself am here because of several of homebrewers articles and joined to better my cultivating skills and saw the mushroom section and thought "HUH, I CAN GIVE BACK A LITTLE" But I can tell you this I was member on another mushroom site when JOHN ALLEN was on it daily and he stopped HELPING people because UNDEREDUCATED people where telling him he was wrong all the time....Heres a tek tell him to by some malt...build a clean room...isolalate to malt agar...inspect the rhizomorphic structure...further isolate to another...agar .....then jar...blah blah blah do I sound like I have NEVER done this before??? SO WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO IS FORM HIS OWN OPINION IN A EDUCATED MATTER. And BTW im so tired of hearing about your DUBTEK I have fruited shrooms in nothing more then a regular tub (always clear) with nothing more then holes drilled in the side and the lid taken off and manually faned for 30 seconds with said lid for YEARS.

Okay here.... Soak your wbs 24 hours.....I pick out sunflowerseeds when they float to top...you dont have to ..up to you....after good soaking rinse off in strainner...lay out on paper towl to dry.....rotate and shift them for about an hour ...when you can place your hand on them and barely any stick to it they are ready to jar.....The theory is the water softens the shell and the shell absorbs water which it will hold in your SEALED jar like ICONO said...TO DRY the jar STALLS.....TO MOIST it contams ..... its like goldielox and the three bears it has to be just right....WBS can be use in conjuction with almost every casing tek I am aware of....Except the Pan species I have only had luck doing them LC(liquid culture) to poo/straw jars....poo/straw casings

PCing will kill all the bacteria that can contam the sub. I'm not really sure if there is any beneficial bacteria you want in there. I know you don't need any type of bacteria in there for myc to colonize. I pc cmc/verm/coco coir in an oven bag for substrate. It kills everything living in the bag. You don't want anything competing for nutrients. I believe he was talking about flushing his cmc which doesn't sound good. I have never done that and it sounds as if you would flush a lot of the compost away. If I am thinking of what he means by flushing to be correct. Either way. I just put the cmc right in a tote and mix it all up with the verm and coco coir/water and some pickling lime to balance the ph and that is it. Ok so plain and simple POO has severla strains of beneficial bacteria that consume mold mildew spores other bacteria but not the MYCELIUM which as we kno is like the root structure and is what we introduce to the poo ...so it makes it harder for example green mold to take hold .....And we i talk about fc thats not flushing thats FEILD CAPACITY......you add moisture back to the poo at FEILD CAPACITY
Ex....POO/verm whatever else into pillow case oven fill with water and twist......strains out excess moisture while maintaining a proper moisture content ....then into the oven...yummy

I know there are a lot of different ways to grow mush. I'm just stating that he is getting a lot of bits and pieces of different things that work for people. I wouldn't advise someone to pick and choose parts of teks that work for people and combine them into one. I recommend dubtubs because it is straight forward and complete and proven. It is a great foundation as to where to start from. I don't mean to sound as if i am insulting people. If someone is giving bad advise and i say something and that person is insulted too bad. I'm just looking out for the person seeking the right knowledge. To be honest I don't know if you were the one giving the bad advise or not. I really do not feel like combing through this thread again. If you were then yeah it sounds as if you have not done this before. If you were one of the ones who was giving some good input then yeah it does sound like you have done this before. Take your pick. And you wouldn't make it past my driveway let alone my door.

I have a pack of wild hyenas in my yard and a moat filled with sharks.
It has a good ratio of milo and millets. It doesn't have cracked corn which is in a lot of wbs. It turns to cream corn when you hydrate it and will fuck up your grain. You also should remove the sunflower seeds too. It shows you how to do that easily on the vid in the tek.

It cost a little over $20 shipped. It is a little more pricy,but it works well.
People swear by wheat. I use to also. However to be honest i just did a side by side of WBS vs wheat and my WBS colonized about 1/3 faster than the wheat.
