White guy killer syndrome, Elliot Rodger’s deadly, privileged rage

how do you reconcile that with the death pact you have with your wife?
There's no death pact, that's you conflating the issue. I only told you guys about the conversation that she asked me, "If I ever killed my unborn baby over hormones, I hope you'd have the decency to kill me."

If two people have a real death pact, and are consenting adults, it's none of your fucking business!

That wasn't a white supremacist group. Race was never discussed in the group page. Nothing related to it either.

It was the earlier ones, that I was not in, nor invited to, that had ass the white supremacist stuff.
All 3 had race discussions.

If that was the very last group created under the last incarnation of the RIU forums then yes. But it wasn't.

I was only in greenthumb's group. No race was discussed.
Bullshit. I kept up on every group i was invited to.

I'm not in the loop on the white supremacist groups, not gonna take sides on this one, but IMO when people cry racism on everything it's just prolonging racism / making it worse. We gotta just get over the race thing and get to some real issues at some point in this country.

there's your white privilege right there. if you were actually affected by racism, like many are, you would probably call it a real issue.

you have the privilege of not being affected by racism.

I was only in the fourth one. There was no discussion of anything racial. In fact, I was bored with the lack of discussion that took place.

From putting together the pieces, there were four groups in total.

I was only invited to the final, fourth one.

And please do tell us, how has racism affected you?

Now who is being racist? It's not the race that is the issue though. It really comes down to poverty and a failure for a public school system. And you have no idea what I've been subjected to in life so you can't really make a blanket statement like "You're white, you never have experienced racism". I grew up in an area where whites were treated badly. I was the minority. People would beat you up for being the only white guy at a party. Act cool till you get drunk then jump you and shit. Don't make assumptions.

I never said racism wasn't an issue. I said people like you make it a bigger issue rather than trying to progress.

i could list a whole bunch of ways that it goes beyond SES, but i don't really feel the need to.

Obviously a 2 sentence post doesn't cover all the issues with race in this country. My point is, skin color is irrelevant unless someone decides to make it an issue - racists, and non racists alike. It IS an issue, but shouldn't be - that's what I meant.

I agree. But, I am in the loop on these 3 groups. I also remember most of those in all 3 groups.

Fucking Sweden!

Look UB I'm not trying to attack you or put you out, because I believe your intentions when it comes to race are actually good at the core, but from what I've seen you are missing a real world perspective on the matter. If racism is something you truly care about then I encourage you to take a minute and consider what I'm about to say...

Most of my friends in life have been people of a darker skin color...native American, African American, etc...and the thing is..they have almost all been proud. They embrace their race and don't let anyone make them feel inferior over skin color. When someone such as yourself looks at them and assumes they deserve special treatment and assume they've been oppressed their whole life because you see Brown skin...whether you are trying to sympathize or not, have good intentions or not...that is another form of racism. It is keeping race a relevant issue. More often than not race sympathizers turn non racial issues into racial issues, even if it is unintentional. Hope that makes sense n u can see that this is just as much of a problem as racism in the traditional sense.

that makes complete sense and i don't think anything negative about you in any way.

i also don't think someone deserves special treatment or assume they've been oppressed their whole lives. but i do acknowledge that more people of color are affected by racism. i don't know if acknowledging or sympathizing with that makes me racist, but i don't feel like it does.
