I personally would harvest because i like 1/2 cloudy trichombes. i feel it preserves taste and thc % give it 2 or 3 days and cut her down depending on what the rest of it looks like. Invest in a microscope so you can look at the trichombes and resin glands closer. But it will not hurt it to let it keep growing. its when they are fully amber and the leaves are dying that you start to lose thc content.

get a 30x scope or a jewlers loop (like $10), there is really no other way to tell perfectly. If i am going to be smoking the product i like to wait until it has ~40% AMBER tri's, this will yield a heavy more narcotic feeling high where if u harvest at the first sight of amber tri's when most are milky u will get a much more sativa like high.

I cant say much for THC content because i havn't tested many of my runs, but i did notice that the buds dont seem to put on more weight after amber trichromes begin appearing. Early picked weed is some peoples favorite, so its all preference, and i don't think THC content is responsible fore the difference in high, my guess is THC doesn't change that much.

Also, it is probabl that your plants wont all finish at the exact same time, especially if u have diff strains, so check them all dont just start hacking cuz ones ready.

the more amber the more degradation and more CBD. so it depends how you want you high, purplehays1 is right on. earlier, head stone. later, body stone.

i dont think at ~40% amber that much if any THC degrades but i think that's about as far as u want to let them go. I have seen people let stuff go till all are amber and its super strong but tends to put u to bed. So i doubt there is much to the thc degrading thing, but def something is changing in the cannibinoid ratios which causes the change in effect.

if you are not in a hurry, and u dont mind couchlock buds, let that shit ripen!!! Just be really careful of mold/PM if your humidity is over 50%. If your humidity is under 50% there is almost no risk in letting them go long. Just wait till most the trichromes r amber then chop if u like very heavy sedative weed. I personally am not a fan of sativas or "early" weed i like the heavy narcotic shit, but thats just me. To each his own.
