Kief question for ya

So I harvested my buds, hung them upside-down to dry 2 weeks in a warm attic.
Smokable, tasty potent buds is my result. My problem is i can not dislodge the keif
from my buds using my grinder and it always works with the compressed mid-grade
crap sold around here. Are the buds still too fresh? When i grind the bud, NO keif is
found in the bottom of the grinder and the buds are fully resinated -(some of you have seen my pics :)
Anyway, i'm really wanting to smoke some keif . Do i have to get the bubble bags? Is there some cheap way to
end up with some keif from my sticky buds?

you could try and make some qwiso or bho with the trim / popcorn nugs if you'd like.. :D

Wish I had some bubble bags. If i had to get only 1 size, what micron would you recommend?
I want to make some bubble or collect keif. I've seen an interesting collection method using dry ice, a bucket and a bubble bag.
The amount of keif that was "sifted out" with dry ice was impressive. 2 oz of trim yielded like 8gm keif-

It really depends on the quality and quantity of product you want.

I've read that the dry ice method is high yielding but contains much particulate plant matter. Not sure how the purity levels stack up against traditional sift hash.

There is also a quick and easy dry sift method posted on here that is very pure but very low yielding.

Since you are asking about keif and bubble specifically...

For grinder keif you prob just need to dry it out more, my home grown doesn't keif nearly as much as the flash dried stuff you get at dispensaries. But I see that as a good thing.

You might also try to dry it out more and go for traditional sift hash, you'll yield more and it should be more pure depending on your tek.

Personally, I bit the bullet and am going with fresh frozen IWE. Great flavor and purity, no need to dry/cure, good yields, and easily separates out the fullmelt, spliff, and cooking grades. Checkout Essential Extracts or Bubblebags if you need a bag kit.

If you don't want to mess with dry ice, what I have done is find a plastic jar with a wide top, cut the top out and replace it with some 120 micron SS mesh, throw in your "dried" bud and a couple nickels, and shake it over a glass surface. It's so easy and fast to do. The product comes out pretty good, you could go with a smaller mesh if you wanted but I've found 120 to be good enough- not bubble but tasty enough.

Very NICE 707 !! Thank You Kudos for telling me about this. My idea= 120 micron bubble bag (e-bay) and 7$ in dry ice. I have seen great results this way. i wanna use trim and lower bud, so the outcome should be nice. I prefer smoking hash over flowers, it's just me. I love "refined" cannabinoids :-) Thanks again 4 the info bro :p

Thanks bro, I may need to just get some bubblebags indeed :-)

Sometimes it's strain dependent. My jack herer is covered in trichs, but even cured it's so sticky I rarely get any kief in my grinder. Some generic og I just had was dense/dry and almost broke up into a powder and even grinding up a gram of that left me with a nice amount of kief. I'd rather have sticky bud then dry bud. If your really after kief there are a few things you can do...

You can try sticking the bud in the frezer over night before you grind it, but this will effect the taste of the bud slightly, not so much the kief.

Of you can leave the bud in a paper bag(or just out) over night and get it nice and dry before you grind it.
