Hey folks 
I'm a relatively new grower, i've done 5 crops or so and me and my friend grow some really nice bud but theres always room for improvement and experimentation, any how heres the dilemma/dilemmas that are upon me just now...
Theres so much debate on whats the best EC to run in coco, what would you guys say is best to run? because on my last crop we ran the ec at 1.6 until around week 6 of flower and it seemed like the girls hit a stage where the growth just stopped (I'm growing in huuuge 80L buckets in coco coir using green haze nuts with bloombastic boost from week 4 onward of flower and using canna pk13:14 in weeks 5-7) we only yielded 7oz off of a exodus psychosis and 7.5oz off of barneys amnesia lemon oh which i add each plant was under a 600w Hps each and it was our first attempt at a scrog, the crop before hand we grew monsters of the same two strains again in the same buckets but under one 600w Hps and yielded almost 10oz off of each of the plants but the buds were not as tight as this time round and we ran the ec at 2.0 with the same nutes, boost & PK as mentioned... where were we going wrong this time? possibly we didn't scrog it correctly or let the colas grow up too much from the scrog, or maybe running such a low ec on such large plants caused it? or could we have over topped them? they were veged for quite a while as we kept filming/topping and bending the plants down to open them up.
We are ready to start going again this time we are thinking of just going back to the first way running the EC higher and just having huge bad ass plants without the scrog.. but the thing is we all want tight bad ass buds and a high yield.. we have also been looking to get a hell of a lot of clones ready putting them right in to 12/12 OR.. allowing the clones to grow to the 6th node, taking them back down to the 2nd node, allowing 4 new colas to grow through then putting them all in to 12/12 and seeing what might happen...
What do you experts and veterans recommend? i know you all will have sound solid advice on what to do, also sorry if this is the wrong section? i was going to post in the newbie section but wasn't too sure what this would come under
I have seen the purple bulbs people use, are these bulbs used in veg to reduce the plants shooting up and growing to tall in veg? if so this sounds like a miracle bulb I'm going to need to hurry up and buy haha.
One last thing, my grow space is a generous 2mx2mx2m, 2x600w hps, a veg area of 1mx1mx2m with a 400w Hps and another small area with a cfl and a couple of propagators.
