Pictures of finished Auto Flowers

I see a lot of posts regarding the "doneness" or ripeness of auto flowers.. I struggle with this also.
On my last auto I never got amber trichomes and the pistils were hard to read since it wasn't very hairy. The smoke turned out to be just okay.

Right now I have an auto that is 9 weeks old from seed. She is a real beauty,, Northern Light from Royal Queen. According to breeder this plant should be finished now or within the next week. Most of the hairs have turned from white to orange which is a good sign, no noticeable new pistils forming, no noticeable changes really, but there are definitely no amber trichiomes. I'm not even sure if I can tell the difference between cloudy and clear. To me they look frost white. According to my research many strains do not produce amber trichomes which would, to me, be the easiest way to judge when your plant is finished.

Do any experienced auto growers have closeups or any more tips?

Thanks for the help as always..

Thank you... Nice looking budz..

Are milky trichs the same as frosty or pure white trichs? I guess it's a matter of perspective and magnification power.

Personally speaking, there are only 3 types of trichs in my world. Clear ( like water droplets ) cloudy ( call it frosty, milky, white whatever ) and starting to have some amber. I say this because I've never seen totally amber trichs, nor do I ever want to see them. It's always nice to know what you like without guessing.

I think this one is done for following reasons.
Yellowing fan leaves
Orange pistils
No new white pistils
Breeders recommended schedule
No new noticeable bud growth

Please let me know what you guys think.

Ha.. Looks like you have a Growers Edge scope, but like me, a phone other than iphone so you can't get the case that attaches the lens :) I spend so much time trying to get that damn lens in the right position. It's a juggling act :)

Here's a trich shot about 3 days away from harvest.

Milky ones appear white.

Clear appear clear lol.

Yea, but when a seed bank sends you auto flowers that aren't auto flowers you are stuck between a rock and a hard place :) :) That's the way it goes sometimes..

This is a Barneys Farm Auto Sweet tooth. Description says 56 days from start to Finnish. This picture is from today, day 93 from seed, i think there is at least another week. In short, plants decide when they want to finish, depending on growing conditions.

Is it too late in the season to start growing an auto from seed outside? I read that you can grow into November but I want to make sure before I go and buy seeds. I live in the bay area of California.
