jade, what up.
so just a quick little bit of info, at some point the nutes in your FF soil will run out, so do a little research on what nutes people like to use, fox farm has a 3 part veg and then a combo of 6 in flower used in diff stages, im using them rt now... biggest thing, its all a learning process so expect to fuck it up. my first lesson in transplanting was to not transplant too early. meaning, if the roots arent starting to outline the shape of your pots a little bit, then you should wait, because transplanting too early can cause over watering issues, bc the roots cannot suck the water out of the soil, and it just sits waterlogged at the bottom of your pots.. if the bottom of your pots or soil start to smell like decaying matter or a pile of dung or just stinky and not like soil, you know that there is an issue. i have had this happen to me. now if you wait too long to transplant, your lady will show signs of stress which can confuse someone whos not experienced it, so if your stalk is strong enough to lift your lady and the whole pot of soil out for you too check and youve got some massive brown roots outlining the pot instead of white healthy roots just starting to outline then you know youve waited too long. based on you being in orange and what time of year it is, youll probably start flowering sometime between august and sept, finishing by oct.
you can also expect a foot per gallon of soil, 3 gallon pots, 3ft plant, depending on strain give or take a foot.
also, get a ppm meter and ph meter, like 10 bucks each if you dont already have them, and test the runoff water, bc youll know when to start using your nutrients after the FF soil gets depleted. also testing your runoff for ppm lets you know how much your plants are eating up of the nutrients and if you need to feed them or back off.
