Grow tent HOT HOT HOT!!!

whats up guys,

Im having some major heat issues with my grow tent and I came to the forums for some help. This is my first grow so I am somewhat of a novice. I have the Agromax xl tent (8x4x6.5) and I just installed 2 epic 8 hoods (from sun systems) with 2 1000watts for flower and CO2. I just transplanted the ladies from 3 gallon to 7 gallon smart pots and I am extended the veg period for one more week until they get acclimated to the heat and new pots.

I am running a sealed room (as best as i can in a tent) with a CO2 tank on a regulator and time. my carbon filter is running inside the tent with a 6 in hyper fan (by Phesh) with about 400 cfm. My hoods are air cooled separate from the environment of the tent with an 8 in inline booster fan (400cfm) in between the hoods and out to a 8 in hyper fan (by Phresh) (710cfm) with insulated ducting. *note* As the air is exiting the tent through last hood and insulated ducting there is a 90 degree turn down out the tent and another 90 degree turn down to the 8 in hyper fan pushing air out on the side of the tent into the same room that the tent is in. Other than those 2 90 degree turns air runs straight through the tent through the other side.

The set up looks like this

I also have my ac on in my house on high and I have redirected a vent to blow cool air right next to the side of the tent where air is pulled through to cool the lights as best as i can. there is still a vent blowing cold air right in front of the tent to cool the environment.

The temperature inside the tent a steady 90 degrees and i can not lower it. I have 2 tower fans and 1 circular fan inside the tent for air circulation to keep the heat off my plants and to provide air movement but they are looking very sad. leaves are droopy and I'm sure they are not under watered or over watered. they don't appear to be heat stressed to the point of dying but they are really drooping.

Ideally i would like my temp to be around 84. If i need to add an a/c i can buy one I'm just not sure how to connect i properly or which one to buy.

I would really appreciate your guy's help.

ill try it, for the most part humidity stays in order during the day, i might have to put it back inside the tent during night time tho

Maybe an in room ac, and you could have outside tent, and rig up a duct system so that it pulls air from tent and then blows cool air back in. That would also eliminate the need for the dehumidifier.?

Yeah I think the AC unit would kill 2 birds with one stone. It could help w/ the humidity, bring it down a bit without needing the dehumidifier (less heat generated as well) and cool the air of course.

get 2 inlines hook 1 up to pull the het out and one straight to ur ac set on 20c blowen into ur tent seal her and ull be fine i have had mine like that for 6 years and were i live it gets 44c+

you have an air tight room with a tent and your pushing the hot air back into the same room. the heat has to escape some how or your just pulling the same hot air out the tent right back in. if you must run co2 airtight then you need a good enough ac to combat the heat. or you need to punch a hole in room up high and vent the hot air out. also your plants will take in your co2 up to 95f.

as stated, inline fans. i didn't see where you mentioned if you had anything venting the tent, and the hoods. but why would you not, lol? i'm picturing the tent, and two 1000 watters really seems a bit much. even one would present a challenge to control temps. and that's what you need to be able to do, control not re-act. i just don't think 2 lights is doable. venting the heat from the humidifier is a good idea. if you could bring the ambient room temp. down, that would really help, with tent temps. humidifiers just in what it does, will bring the temp. down, but not much. i vote, remove one hood, lol...

well i run a 1.2 meter x1 meter tent 3 600watt hps light 2 6" inline dutc fane one in the tent pulling heat out into my roof one going straight into the ac blowing into my tent my temp sit on 27 28 i have to turn the fans down tho to hit 32-33 wen i hit em with co2

as said above, the dehumidifier is likely heating your tent, if you can maintain ~50% humidity ditch the dehumidifier from inside the tent. If this doesn't fix if put a ac in your room to lower the tents intake temps or inside the tent itself. either should work.

Ur booster rated for high temps? That's gonna die, I lost one behind a 600w. You want the booster on the end, flange, booster, hood, hood, big fan, id insulate the duct between the hoods too....

I poke basic cheapy cooking probes to monitor the in/out air temps thru my duct. 65f in and 80f out on average behind 2 600's.....

And remember... every single bend reduces airflow, the sharper the bend, the more the reduction. Make sure the ventilation system is as straight as possible, or with as gentle as possible bends....

i have an 8 in booster fan in-between the lights the an 8 in inline fan sucking air out as well. 1110 total cfm. i probably lose 250-300 with the two 90 degree turns.

the air going inside the first hood through the booster fan is no warmer than 80 degrees as air is pulled through and out the other side. it is an active air booster fan, built pretty well and seems to move a good amount air. I'm sure it will be fine at 80 degrees for 12 hours a day in addition to another fan helping it pull air behind it.

removing the dehumidifier lowered the temp in the tent to 88 degrees which is fine with me. i may try to vent the air out of the basement through a window. maybe construct a box to fit into window seal and blow air out from the lights. ill also look into some a/c units for the future.
