Cite it or it is hyperbole.
That's one of those chicken or egg questions.

I did see a study that the majority of teenage suicides involved antidepressant drugs, but did the drug cause the suicide or the fact that they were depressed to begin with? It's not quantifiable for certain, so putting stock in it either way is dicey at best.

mentally ill patients are prescribed a cocktail of mind altering drugs
they ask the patient to "test" which one works best for them and which gives the least side effects"

sounds like hit and miss to me on this count

do you really support mentally ill folk getting hooked on prescribed drugs ?
im sure you will know many folk have ditched these for weed
many folk who suffer with mental illness find coming off these drugs as hard or harder than the illness itself
i'm pretty sure they also take objective measurements of behaviors, like noticing if patient x, y, or z is still proclaiming to be the queen of england.

Now it's flaws, before it was examples of subjective orientation.
you can actually feel free to point out flaws OR "subjective orientation" in the body of scientific work that composes what we now know as psychology.

but swinging at therapy when you're trying to get at psychology is pretty pointless, moron.

Man! I wanted him to do the work!

I actually know this well, I am a nurse. I just want skunk doc to put effort into his statements. He is lazy with his arguments.

i agree, they have a good go, they look through their pill book and ask "are you paying for this medication" this helps them decide what pills to give the patient
since some are more costly than others

it actually is quantifiable.

prozac and other anti-depressants, when taken by those who already have suicidal ideation, may give them the wherewithall to actually follow through on their ideation.

this is pretty old news.

what you're describing is a flaw in the health care system, not the scientific basis of psychology.

have a read of the psychopath test by jon ronson its quite funny in places
its easy to convince the doctors you're mad (to get out of prison)
but once you do that, its very hard to convince them you are not mad anymore lol
to get out of the nuthouse

Are you familiar with the term psychotherapy? Where does it derive it's meaning?

Are you familiar with a common note format in medicine known as SOAP notes?

Well then you should be able to quantify it. What percentage of teen suicides was caused by the drug?

yes you are right this is a separate flaw
giving a patient a cocktail of drugs and letting them find out which causes the least harm is the most important flaw
i would not let the flaw of the health service administration and corruption with drug companies overshadow the original flaw

but...therapy!

good job.
OK, we are making progress, you now understand the relationship that can exist between psychology and therapy. This is going to be earth shattering, but there are other forms of therapy as well that deal with other subjects. Some people find going to the gym to be therapeutic. Exercise can be therapy too, holy shit. It's like therapy is a general term used in conjunction with many other things, why does the world hate you so much to make things so complicated.

Now, what's your next malfunction we can help with?

Sorry bout that. Then you understand what a soap note is and will appreciate the fact I almost wrote one out for Buck's pt claiming he was the queen of England. I figured it would be for my own amusement, but you would have gotten it too. The urge passed though, yuck to soap notes.

Freud was the founder of psychoanalytic therapy. So yes, a therapist CAN diagnose if they have the credentials. Therapist is a loose term.

I used to assist a physical therapist named Krok, I really like iontophoresis therapy. I never really understood the complete benefit until I started treating my own knee! It was amazing!

Luckily I now practice a new profession of horticulture! Easier hours, doesn't hurt my knee as much.
