under watering?

Does this look like under watering? Growth has slowed i can tell because the second set of true leaves have been the same size for the last couple days. Temps: high hit 81 right as i was waking up and low was 74, humidity has been in the 50's. No nutes yet as she is only 5 days from sprout and using ph'd water of 6.2. She still has a healthy green which says she's still ok, but trying to figure out why she slowed down

If shes dry give her some water, my guess would be that shes focusing her energy on root development and in a week or so shes gonna take off.

Try taking a pic for your self every day you'll notice growth. They are usin the leafs for energy now, little leafs=little energy=slow growth. My guess is you check on her a lot ( at least I do with my seedlings I like to watch the grass grow) so your not really noticing her getting any bigger.

the reason it's slow is because it's a large bucket so the plant is spending its energy on growing roots to the bottom

2 questions for ya bud, what is hempy style, Is it starting a seed in it's final pot? An when outside in the ground how does it reach the bottom of the pot? (Last one sounds like a dick comment, not trying to be just curious to learn)

6 Early Wonder Skunk seeds, started in rock-wool, two in 11 litre buckets, the other four in 2 litre pop bottles, 3:1 perlite/vermiculite, and half were soil capped

Pic 1 & 2 - March 15th - just transplanted, same size
Pic 3 - March 31 - 2L pop bottles are way ahead of the buckets
Pic 4 & 5 - April 16th - the bucket is starting to look bigger
Pic 6 - April 26th - the bucket is way bigger

Interesting but if you look at them as well as the mediums their in I think it could be amount of water retention. The soda pots have a very small surface are so air/water evaporation happens at a much slower rate then the buckets. When looking at the ones in soda soil they are both bigger then the ones in the perilite(less water rententive). It even shows the difference from the soil buckets compaired to the perilite bucket(smaller then the soil bucket)

actually the explosion in growth is from the roots hitting the res in the bottom. the 2 liter has less of a distance to go before it hits the res, while the 11 liter has a long way to go for the res. As for the watering it was actually slightly over watered, i didnt water them today just a light mist and when i got home all the curling had disappeared and starting to praise the lights, so i think ill water every other day till she hits the res. i love these girls resilient to most minor mistakes lol

I'm still in disagreement. While the roots hitting the bottom may have a little bit to do with the growth rate. If you look at the 3rd picture, while the containers may hold different amounts of soil you can clearly see the bucks have the same depth.

no they don't, not only are the buckets deeper but the roots are also spreading wider.

Also....they are not in soil....thought I mentioned the perlite/vermiculite part

Also, my 2 liter pop bottles sits in a plastic jar giving them a taller appearance, see pic for true size difference.

2 days ago you had never heard of hempy....I don't think you are in a position to disagree with those of us who actually have grown hempy

Except he's in perlite/verm and they won't last that long without ANY food.

If your in perlite/ver I would start feeding them. There is no nutrition what so ever in your medium and I know a bunch of soil guys will tell you differently, but when your in an inert medium/hydro they need food from day one.

Just start very light, 1/8 or what the bottle recommends or more accurately, under 150ppm. That's total ppm, so if your using tap water it's already probably higher then that, I always recommend going with distilled or ro at this point so you can fed them.

I see a lot of new growers struggle with this stage and it's because all the soil guys scare everyone into NOT feeding their plants, even if they aren't growing in soil, lol.
