seedlings getting eaten

i have some seedlings outdoors and some have been eaten any idea how to prevent this?

Don't put seedlings outdoors.

What Veggiegardener said - wait until they are a foot tall or so & then (tomato) cage them.
I would also add that I'd use some wolf/fox urine around them to deter rabbits & deer.

i'd bet it's snails or slugs, a ring of rock salt (the course big rocks for water softner) around the container will keep them away. or a thick ring of diatamecous earth.

only problem I had with animal urines is that my dog likes to roll in it.....
which flattened my little ladies....
and makes my dog smell.

Sevin my friend, unless your an organic freak. I can assure you that applying Sevin in that young of a stage in life will not affective buds when they're ready, the toxins will be gone. Other than that keep them indoors to allow for that good "take off speed" that they beautifully blow themselves into. Good luck!

Sevin is terrible stuff. Harsh on the lungs even when using a mask. They sell copper tape for slugs. Sevin works. But is just awful on the lungs

I've been using Triazicide....(Walmart)....same dilution as for tomatoes...not much smell, very effective for cutworms and works on mites too. Don't use this after flowering starts...
