technically you should only name a stabilized in bred line (ibl). that takes 6-10 generations. if you grow a bean, it is what it is, and renaming it is bullshit. if it's a cross, it's f1 momxdad (recognizing lineage). in breeding and back crossing go f2, f3, f4, etc, or momxdadf2xmom momxdadf4xdad etc.
