SO.......after learning how to Germinate seeds, feed seedlings and plants and transplant to bigger pots. i Decided the time had come to try my hand at cloning.

i cut 8 clones and placed them in my new X-Stream 20 site aeroponic cloner and left overnight. next mourning (deliberate typo) all 8 had died !!!! turns out i had a faulty sprinkler/motor. DISASTER.

After a quick visit to my local grow shop i now have a new motor and sprinkler system.

this time i cut 4 just to see how we go, here are some pics of the setup,DSCF0369.JPG DSCF0380.JPG DSCF0379.JPG

any tips on this subject and equipment are gratefully received,

ill update when i have an update

peace

How much was the aerocloner? I'm considering building one myself, but don't know if I can be bothered, lol.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can ditch the humidity dome, it's not needed for aerocloning

Faulty equipment compensation should have been in order(something free).

In all fairness to the guy, he has been amazing with advice and has given me loads of free stuff and most of the time only charges me cost price so i wont complain. after all, the advice i've had is invaluable.

It cost me approx $50 (bought an aquarium heater too) for 20 site. The clones look really good and as a beginner i felt anything that improved my success rate was worth the money ha ha

Shop man said to keep the dome on ?? he hasn't steered me wrong yet so i'll stick with it. if it goes wrong i'll remove the dome next time.

Wow that's cheap, we go so ripped of for everything here in australia.

There's no problem with leaving the dome on, it's just not necessary for aero cloning like it is for other traditional methods.

Yeah I heard Australian growers were paying mega prices for equipment.

Thanks for the info.

I get 100% clone results from using root riot cubes. They're easier and I see roots within 4 days

Easier how? I only took cutting and put them in the neoprene collars haha 100% is impressive maybe I didnt need the cloner but if it get s 100% success ill be pleased

Cloning isn't hard, I get 100% with most methods, now I just take cuttings, shove them in some coco and wait, no clonex.

The two most important parts of cloning, no matter what method are,
1- Keep everything clean, including tools and work areas,
2- Be quick, don't spend ages trying to split the stem perfectly or something like that, just take the cutting, strip off a node close to the cut and put in the medium.

It's just easier with root riot than it is with rockwool. When I cut clones I see roots within 4 days

So how many days does it take your to root?

Haven't checked the stems for.root growth yet but I'm gonna look on day 4 to see what, if anything has happened. Leaves are still nice and green sO I'll post a pic tomorrow of whatever I find.
