I'll answer the question. So tell me from a girls perspective, how many messages do you get a day, and do you feel like you can be artificially more picky than you would be if a guy approached you on the street? Do you feel that this artificial pickiness actually lends far more superficiality to a potential relationship from the start thereby lowering the connection value you could have.
Not a chick first of all, let's get that out of the way.
I have, and currently am, internet dating. If I do say so myself my profile kicks ass, and I get a lot of interest. Not tootin' my own horn here, it is what it is.
I get between 0-5 messages from new girls every day, in addition to the ones I'm already speaking to. This can get overwhelming, so I try to limit myself to only speaking to 3-4 people at any one time. Its difficult to try to keep everything together and be personable and genuine when spread thin.
I feel that I can be much more selective in whom I choose to talk to and for which reasons. This is the boon and the bane of internet dating.
Yes. I mean come on now, you two chose each other based on a few pics and a short 'about me' section. The real effort is making a real human connection out of nothing when you first meet. It's disappointing for me actually; I build up a mental picture of this person from their pics, our conversation, from hearing their voice; then I meet them and compare the real thing against my mind's conception.Do you feel that this artificial pickiness actually lends far more superficiality to a potential relationship from the start thereby lowering the connection value you could have.
The longer I've been doing it the more I realize its really just me performing some large scale social experiment and that maybe I'm doing this for my own amusement. No end in sight.
Hope that helped answer the question, even though I'm a dude.
Peace all.
