Need some suggestions on building a growing room.

So I am planning to build a small growing room to grow some tomato in my garage. I have totally no clue where to start. All I need is to make things simple. And there are some package kit in this website:

So the question for me now is, is this one ready to go or i still need something extra? This one looks quite ready.

do some research on what you are buying , dont want to get stuck with cheap crap that aint werth spit also dont get a digi ballast with a fan dont need that thing sucking dust into the componets . think computer fan when they go out no comp , and unlike a comp. you cant repare a digi ballast

I wouldn't go near that setup. It's a pain getting quality shit here in oz. Buy a quality ballast like a lumatek or known brand. Then a half decent reflector......maybe a cooltube.

Then hit ebay for tent, ducting, yoyos etc. And if your going with 400w get a tent around 1.2m 1.2m 2.0m in size.

Best way to go as a tent. Although you might want to source other things than whats offered in the package.

I like Soler & Palau fans, but they get a bit expensive. Other than that great start, you could get a bigger tent, like a 4x8 and have two rooms to work with. Especially if you want something more a like a "room".

To me a room means a good chunk of space, not a 4x4 space

tents are not the way to go in small areas or bigger areas a room within a room is far better tents run too hot,far better with stud work and plaster board and fill any gaps with foam then polly the inside floor to ceiling,with mylar around the bottom meter but make sure you put the mylar above the pot line to utilise the full effect of it.

Build the room right and it should last years,the whole idea is keying the room to the best you can,you will need a heater in winter if its in a garage or for a fast built room styrafaom boards sorry about the spelling all ways build it bigger than you need because this will help if the plants get bigger at some stage in the future.

It is important that you get the room perfect temp wise,i have found stud work like i say with plasterboard to be the best for room plus its fire proof if its double boarded.

If you have the money make sure you buy bigger in let out let i drop inlet by 2 ince so i use a 12 ince outlet ,from the filter through the cool hoods and inlet is set high in the room with duct that falls from it then run across the floor of the grow room with holes in the side for even fresh air flow,

Dam I would have paid postage......... I guess with tents, you either hate or love em.
As for the op he did state something simple and I'd hardly call building walls simple,
and who knows if he even owns the house he's living in.

I guess even if people do own there house, there still not going to want to modify there house. It's not like its going to be a great selling feature. And judging by what the op linked I'd say its just a small grow for some personnel shit, really no need to go constructing factory's for it.

I only mentioned 4x4 tent due to what the op linked, the size tents with that kit are just to small for the 400w.

I built mine out of 2x4 and screws, the same shops that sell your lights sell this white reflective plastic sheeting thing, stick that on, leave a door, Velcro strip the door.

Done, a grow room, not just a tent, you can walk around in it and have loads of height.

It costs about £50/$75 to make, so its sturdy but cheap.

That said, that is my set up, its good don't get me wrong, but it still looks like a fucking meth lab from the outside, so the plasterboard idea is my next step. Its more permenant and more discrete, although cost more, so I'm happy now I've established I can grow decent smoke and its clearly the way forward in terms of growing and not buying anymore.

Dude, you dont have to make it HUGE ?? same size as the tent would do but it just gives you less problems in the long run.......humidity, heat etc all fluctuate massivly in a tent, a room is simply more stable and easier to work with. my rooms are only 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m

I guess it's the environment where you have your setup......I myself don't have any humidity problems etc. I run all year round without heating or ac, sure it gets warm in summer but not enough to effect my grow.

Sure it's simple, but its no where as simple as putting a tent together is it? And its not like you can move a built room around. If you want a big room you can always buy a big tent lol. You could buy 10ft by 10ft, but with just a 400w light what's the point?

With the op only wanting to run a 400w light, a tent can't be beaten in terms of ease and practicality.

My grow is in a barn (worst place according to some authors of well known grow guides) tent didn't work for me at all. All in one kits are made up of cheaper parts so buy the parts separate and stick em in a tent. Put some pics up once you've sorted it out.

For what he spends on a 10x10 tent he could build a 10x10 room. Immovable? Of course, but a much better option. He never said if he was a renter/homeowner etc etc. Just my opinion.

I'm not the original poster, and I already have my setup. That being said today I'm pulling down my 10x5 tent and relocating to another room. I just scored another 2 tents a 4x4 and 3x3 for $113 so I will be setting all 3 up today. I'll be running veg flower and breeding tents.

10x5 Flower tent is running 2 400w hps soon to be 3
4x4 Veg tent has 440w of t5 pll's
3x3 Breeding tent will have 220w of t5 pll's

I'll take some pics when all setup later today, here's a pic inside my flower tent atm. Lol can't really get a pic of my tent the room is to small lol.
