I'm with you my friend - I've had the misfortune of having to do that several time to my Canine BFF's.View attachment 3192943 View attachment 3192945 View attachment 3192947 View attachment 3192949 View attachment 3192950 View attachment 3192953
Well, my beautiful Cassie had to be put to sleep last month. She gave me 17 awesome years. Possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
i dislike people trying to stop me when i bike ride with thor, its awkward yes hes cute but can we like no try to stop my dog while running LOLI took both the cat and the dog to the vet on Saturday. It's amazing how close they became in a stress environment! Had fireworks celebrations this week and that also pushed them together!
I've been away again down the coast and I take the dog with me. I'm nearly getting sick of all the attention he gets from people. It's like they've never seen one before. People literally stop me in the street to ask me questions and then proceed to take out their mobiles to show me their dogs. Bf goes mad about it too. It's actually better when he wears the muzzle!
and lemmie guess: She's the boss...He's 2.5x her size. They're besties.
*groans* I KNOW! Especially since they really have no idea why you're at the vet, (unless, like our last dog, his spine was broken and he was in agony) I didn't feel as bad for that one. He was suffering, a decision had to be made right away, and even if he lived through it, he'd be paralyzed (not good for a herding dog) and need diapers. I will admit that it was somewhat easier under these circumstances both to make the decision AND to say goodbye. All I could think about was setting him free.. The vet (wonderful man) reminded me that dogs don't think as linear as people. They are always in the "now" so all he realized was that he felt tired/less pain. I clung to that as I let him go. My husband and son were on a fishing trip 9 hours drive away so it was just me.I'm with you my friend - I've had the misfortune of having to do that several time to my Canine BFF's.
I feel like such a traitor even if it's the obvious "right" thing to do.
That's going to be a big dog. Looks kinda like a Ridgeback.?
Thanks guys! It a Belgian malinois. He looks like he could have some mastiff in his lines, he has the folds on his forehead and the body structure of my son's mastiff, maybe shepard/mastiff? Very cute regardless
