Ok so been consulting for couple weeks on my choice for my 4x4

option 1 is 2x A51 XGS190 at the cost of 950 bucks and 380w
although I was recommended to go with 6x rw75 at the cost of 1500 bucks and 450w
option 2 im considering 2x Philips 315 CMH Agro at the cost of 430 bucks and 630w <Already pushing my limit on the wattage

So..if anyone wants to drop some wisdom ashes in the ashtray..advice would be nice
Ive never used anything but leds btw..been using this apollo8 for 2+ years now in a 4x2 and heat isnt an issue which is a big concern for me in my next step

I just completed a grow using a BML SPYDR 600, which has an actual 3 x 3 footprint with uniform canopy light.

It will easily cover 4 x 4

See the results in my thread

I just took down a 1000 HPS that was causing too much trouble with heat, and its overkill as a personal medical supply. I went instead with a Mars II 700 and two Area 51 RW150's. I have a Badboy T5 thats a 4 foot, 8 bulb unit in my 4 by 4 tent.
I will soon move my two Area 51's to my veg (removing the T5) and add another Mars II 700 to my flower. The flowers are coming in with more trichomes earlier in flower on the same clones than they were in the same flower room with the 1000 HPS.
HPS was pushing my plants hard, giving more volume I don't need and at some expense beyond energy costs which are yet to be fully determined. My flowers are looking nice under LED.

Ok thank you all for input...although not worried about hps thanks anyway for the respective advice
ive boiled it down now to these options after tracking threads all day,,
options are now
(2) a51 XGS190 w/ (1) RW-150 =~1500bucks

or

BML Spydr600 although only seen PetFlora's thread..dude knws about these leds and I trust his knowledge on the subject

I cant look at the Apache because its ridiculously expensive..

I like the CMH Philips Agro 315w bulb..heard nothing but positive on these babies about their spectrum and what not..

and for some reason im not seeing much people using California Light works..I was even considering (2) Solarflares
I would like to know whats the 411 with them..
but overall..i understand a51 would most likely be the ultimate choice in terms of quality and recommendations
oh yea and whats the deal with these...http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/ ?
thanks

Led and some petflora wisdom. And depending on your grow style(ie how many plants) I say 600w hps or x2 400w much and hps. And the whole setup strategically set up and ventilated so as to use bare bulb reflectors.

You can get the Apache 660 for around $2G's...For what you are willing to spend, doesn't seem that like that much of a stretch. Only ridiculously expensive when someone is contemplating 150w's or so, you seem past that.

What you should contemplate is doing a Cree CXA cob fixture. Save some damn money and get the best efficiency and PAR out of just about anything on the market.
[1 CXA 52w setup] is about $65 [4 per 2x2] then just extrapolate your size.

Can't knock the Philips either, but you will be dealing with heat issues, not as bad as HPS but more than a quality led.

@rob333, put down the crackpipe brotha....

A soldering iron and 5 minutes to watch a video is all you need. It wouldn't be $65 if I did it :).

But the CXA 3070's are killing it right now, although, supplementation might important beyond the cob's too, i.e 630 660 red.
