First Harvest - Need Some Experienced Eyes for Harvest ETA

Hi everyone,

This is my 4th grow, but my first successful grow. It is Aurora Indica, and I'm on day 60 of flower (about 8.5 weeks).

Trichomes

Amber trichomes on sugar leaves only, mostly very milky on buds but some have clear bubbles in the milky head.

Swelling/Calyxes

The buds noticeably swelled more this past week or so.

Smell

Smell is incredible. It reeks up the entire apartment.

Pistils

Most are shriveling, but there is still a considerable about of white pistils on the parts of the bud less exposed to light and about 20% of the hairs are white/elongated elsewhere.

I don't want to over-ripen, and I'm being overly cautious since this is my first harvest.

Can I get a second set of eyes/opinions as to when I should harvest? Thanks

Hey OutdoorGrowin, thanks for the reply! I'll keep any eye out for the next week or so and post updates.

Id say 2-3 weeks. It should noticeably swell for about 2 weeks and ripen in the last 5-10 days. The tops will be closer to 2 weeks. The hairs should curl in/bud should swell over them. Picture four is a good example of what I'm saying but still has some new growth. I would bend some of the colas slightly to allow more light in below the top nug of each cola just make sure not to snap. Make sure your doing heavy waterings right now too since they will be thirsty.

Nice job though looks like a good yield.

Oh and are you flowering in your kitchen lol?

Hi roormaster, thanks. Nope, just took the pics in the kitchen lol the grow is in the closet.

I'm wondering what you said about the buds hiding from the light. Would it make sense to harvest the top cola now in order to let the rest of the plant mature? I wanted to put the entire plant in the dark for a few days b4 harvest, but since the top cola is so much more ripe than the rest, I'm not sure how to approach it.

I would bend and then chop top colas in about 2 weeks and then let the bottom go for a little longer. You can do a day of darkness if you wanted for the tops and then turn it back for the rest.
