First time grower using 90% CFLs about about 160 watts plus 1 60 watt grow bulb. Here are the pics as just hit 4 weeks of flowering to me they look pretty good but would like to get some other opinions. using tiger bloom for nuts during flowering with a little Epsom salt every other feeding.

Meh, I've seen a few journals and grows with side by side results pitting LEDS/CFLS against HPS and HIDs. The LEDs and CFLs do fine, just require a little more work. Just different strokes...

keep it up! You mixing anything else up with your Tiger Bloom? Im using the usual mix they recommend (tiger bloom, big bloom, grow big), but im doing a bit of research to see how I can be more precise with my nutes. Id like to find a stable strain I like and push it to the edge so I can see how far it can go. Think most of that is going to have to come from trial and error though xD

Your ladies look Healthy Bro. Very Nice looking to be your first time. If Your using Epsom salt and Tiger Bloom I would suggest getting Bat Guano Jamaican To help fat the buds up and give it a kick and some Black Strap Molasses to go along with your feeding. Its all Organic too. Also with your lighting I would add some more. I would Just get 4 bulb splitters and put a 32w in each (8-32w) so a total of 256 more watts and fill in them shaded areas.

Instead of 12/12 from seed do you ever just leave light on 18/6 for first 2-3weeks then flip to 12/12? yeah most the time i usally veg for about 3-4 weeks from seed then flower haven been doing it for years that one there was a dud from a mate of mine that wanted to kill it i said no let me grow it out 5 ounces later he was so jelly but i was nice and gave him 2 of the ounces

It just seems like after 3-4 weeks after seed in my eyes the plant don't look big enough to produce a nice amount. Don't get me wrong I have always wanted to do 12/12 from seed but just did not know if it was worth it. What do you start in?

i go rock wool cubes on a settop box till they pop then they go straight into substraight mix then into my 2 600watt chamber were i veg for 4 weeks they reach about 30-40 cm in those 4 weeks nice and tall then i flower for 9-12 weeks depends on strain tho atm i have train wreck grand daddy purple and white rhino but mind u i have a full temp controlled room with intake also i run co2

i dont need to see these forums on how leds out perform hps as they dont as i have seen it with my own eyes
alot of led sellers grow with hps then when it comes time to display the plant they switch over to leds to show how good leds do as i work for a hydro shop and alot of sellers and reps of leds lights have told us to do this

soooo for 786 dollers u can get 656 grams of led light bud lolol what a fucken peunut and 1000w for 120 doller +bulb shades and ballest ill even throw in some veg nutes u can get 677grams think i no what im buying

Rob333, that grow was done by a respected member of our forums so far as I can tell. Thats also not the only side-by-side I can dig up. Its true HPS are cheaper, but LED has the advantage for stealth growers. Not to mention less power draw, and a *way* longer life.
You started talking about how LED cant hold up to HPS. I showed you different change happens. Embrace it, it will be ok. Plus, LEDs will only get cheaper and better as time goes on.

I hate to point out the obvious but that side by side grow doesnt prove anything.
The hps in that so called "side by side" isn't limited by the light but by 4x4 space.
I'm not sure why everyone thinks a 1000w hps in a 4x4 space is a good way to grow,
because it isn't you can't expect to just throw wattage at it and get good results.

Just TB, started with molasses today. Have give epsom salts a couple times as well during flower.
