Autos pros / cons ?

Howdy all Ive only just ordered my first seeds online ever the other night and after looking on herbies website I cam across auto flowering plants. My main question is are autos only good for outdoor to get multiple grows a year ? Does anybody use these indoors if so why ? I dont know if its just my ignorant opinion but I dont think these are of any use indoors it would annoy me so much that it just decided to flower by itself.

Maybe Im just a little ocd control freak but could anyone awnser any of my questions and if possible a litle list on the pros / cons of autos.

Peace Love Pipes Bella

Autos are great indoors for a couple of reasons, they stay short, so if height is a concern, they are good, they are pretty forgiving in terms of things like light leaks and they usually only need light feeding.

Downsides include low yield due to their shortness, easy to over feed and burn.

I've only ever grown an auto once, but it went well and the smoke was good, I grew it under 24/7 light for it's entire life. It all comes down to preference.

seed to chop sativa dom's only take 12 weeks ( which is impossible to do with photo's from seed )
ive had better luck with auto's indoors then out 24/0 lighting and more control of the enviroment
usually pull 3-4 oz a plant " usually " sometimes ill get a bit over 2 zips
if you only have one tent and are growing photo's too then youll get a harvest when you flip to 12/12 and have more of a yield from your photo's since your not rushing into bloom
nice when your starting a new setup from seed
they make awesome fillers

con's
less THC but its only by a few %
honestly there are more photo's with less THC that are sold everyday and people still buy them because the name doesnt say auto and they customers still think its bomb ...... im sure they wouldnt if the end result was actually tested

weed can get you high but its something about a % in a test
i dunno im rambling stupid auto's with their weaker end product got my head a fuzzy :D

P.S.
im sure my run on sentences and improper grammar threw off your OCD
you a very welcome :D

12/12 photoperiod strains from seed will finish just as fast and you will get a lot more bud that is better quality. Autos are good for a midsummer outdoor harvest IMHO, but not every auto strain does well outdoors. I can get a quarter pound off of a sativa dominant photo period 12/12 from seed in a little under 80 days, yet with an auto I would be lucky to pull 50 grams.

Autos have their niche and can have decent bud, but I don't feel that it is worth it to grow them inside.

Autos are nice because you can flower them right alongside your vegging plants. To be honest, I believe EVERY new grower should start off running at least one femmed auto while they are vegging their first photoperiod plants. It's like a hands on primer when it comes to "what to look for, is this a pistil?, how much do plants stretch? etc etc". Just my opinion.

The photoperiod? Cum Laude from Positronics Seeds. I have grown about a dozen different strains of autos.
ive grown a few positronic beans
so from seed you can harvest in 80 days ?
the breeder write up says its a 78 day flower
does it not veg ? every 12/12 from seed ive ran still had to veg
my purple haze #1 took almost month to start bloom after i flipped it and another 10+ weeks after
im not doubting but it just sounds a bit off dont you agree ?

Indoor: Avoid the growing period and start straight with the 12/12 photoperiod, in fact we need to take care of its height. After 35 days it'll start showing the first flowers and in 45 days more will be ready for harvest. Will develop a big central cola that will be better tied to a bamboo stick. High nitrogene nutrition will avoid early yellowing of the leaf, and ph level checking becomes necessary. High moisture levels tolerated and resistant to fungus.

disregard i answered my own question

Mine flowered well under 78 days. Cum Laude isn't really a strain so I imagine there would be differences in phenotype.

If you are going from clone it will be even faster because they flower right when you flip to 12/12 no matter what size they are. You can veg an Indica clone for two weeks then flower it for 56 days and have it finished in 70 days. It is just better all around to grow photoperiods indoors rather than autoflowers.

ya they show a pretty awesome review

Fem Seeds. 10 weeks indoor flowering in coco using Canna Coco A&B. 600HPS lighting. Average temp 75. Average humidity 62. This variety grew very fast but did not set buds til the 7th week and by 10 weeks under a microscope, not a singe visible tricome on any of the very small buds or the leaves. Never seen anything like it. As the description said, grows like wheat, with about the same amount of THC. I would not attempt to grow this again. The White Widow growing next to it was a huge crop. So I»m guessing it wasn«t anything I did wrong. Possibly a bad phenotype.

its mid 2014, autos have come a long way. not many cons, some autos nowadays only have 10% ruderalis so dont be deceive by the notion that they are weak.
autos running 24/7 receive more light in 10 weeks than a photo running 12/12 in the same period. not all photos do good at 12/12 from seed.
that being said, if you are going with autos make sure to buy from a good breeder.
mdanzig got some fire, so does shortstuff, dinafem and flash seeds.
kush van stitch from flash is probably one of the best weeds i have ever smoked. and i been smoking since 1993
