Loosing fan leaves during the bloom process is it nromal?

Went to 12/12 two and a half weeks ago. Buds are just forming and look nice, but I am getting a fair amount of stretch and seem to be losing fan leaves regularly. Still new green leaves forming around bud sites and look good but plant is getting more sparse. Is this normal? This was bag seed plant, likely vanilla kush. Doing hydro with general hydroponics nutes. Flushed 10 days ago and then use nutes as directed. IMG_3977.jpg IMG_3979.jpg

Hate to scare you Mike but imo you have a case of PM (Powdery Mildew) in that room. Pics are kind of blurry but it sure looks like it, it typically develops on the bottom leaves and those eventually die off slowly (which they are) but looks like it's on the upper leaves as well. if you can confirm it is (hopefully others will chime in) it's something you have to deal with quick and may be beyond fixing :( You can control it if it's not out of hand but I had some on a strain that was like a magnet for it and eventually culled that strain right out of my indoor grow, plants, clones, seeds, everything. I had the option of throwing a few outside and they eventually recovered.

Hmmmm. Not goo. I have SM-90 on order and have been told that can be an effective treatment. Your opinion?

Yellow leaves at early bud, is typical of many maturing strains, ..just like the maple trees of the north, but as you failed to mention the strain once again I am forced to shoot from the hip, and suggest you flush the rez, at least every 10-14 days just to be safe

That said PM is the shits, do not try to be a hero, amputate or Neem Oil that fungi to my blog:

My older leaves that don't get a lot of light yellow and die off, it's no biggie.
If you have powdery mildew you can tell..it looks just like it sounds. If so get greencure...it's the shit

I've heard of it but never used it. I believe culling and staying away from strains that get it is about the only way to stay away from it. imo some strains can handle it and some can't.

You'll know if it's PM. Saw a bad case of it in a friends grow one time n it is hard to miss. Hopefully it's just the fuzzyness of the images not of mildewy spores.

Although this does work, it can also be done to plants in pots, just wrap the base in a trash bag, allow to dry in a strong warm breeze

I do see some spots on the first picture.
That's what I was seeing. ayr0n's pics are of very extreme case of PM, it starts similar to the spots on that first pic though. Lower leaves tend to die off as well which you can see in the second pic. Keep a close eye on it, PM gets to a certain point and then spreads fast.

You have to control your humidity.treat them with that combo spray blow a fan on them don't put them under your lights wet. you can mess up your plant if you spray it all the time so just get it real good the first time. I wonder if you could dunk the plants in the sm90 then poor that stuff back into the bottle?
