Hi Ck!

Love the bud porn! Sorry if I missed this, but is that a straight trainwreck and SSH, or are they hybrids? I grew a trainwreck hybrid (Cole train from RP) and it was a huge stretcher. Great smoke though. I would love to pick up some SSH from Mr.Nice.

I was transplanting today and I thought this would help explain my description of what I do for topdressing. I think the comfrey is essential, but some of the other things where what I had laying around. You might use borage, nettles, horsetail, etc. This is dried comfrey, peppermint, chamomile, and lavender. Then it was covered with a leaf mulch. These were only seedlings. In my final containers I would add more botanicals and a layer of kelp, crab, neem meal mix below the bontanicals.

Welcome back Pattahabi, good to have you checking in.

The trainwreck is honestly a seed from a half lb of meds I recieved. The only seed in the whole bag..

The Super Silver is from Dinafem, it's just starting to come around, not expecting much. It's had a hard life up till transplanting in this soil.

I have been top dressing every two weeks with fresh dandilion, stinging nettle, Canadian Thistle and yard compost. Ive been watering with lake water. I have a lake in my backyard..
Easiest grow I've ever had and shaping up pretty ok..

Oh nice! I don't think I have tried any plain trainwreck. Heard great things about it. I gave my SSH Dinafem seed to a friend and he grew it out. True to Dinafem genetics (imo), it was not the real deal SSH, but still an easy to grow plant, and over all nice smoke. I generally only topdress at transplant and then again about 2-3 weeks into flower. I need to get my hands on some good organic dandelion and stinging nettle. I bet the lake water has some good microbes in it! I love organics! I will not miss the measuring, pH adjusting, etc with hydro.

I don't chop up the green weeds as much as you Pattahabi, they do decompose in a week and a bit..
The botanicals are all dried. I buy them that way from Natty Grocers most of the time. I know quite a few people use green mulches. However, I don't have much experience with them.

CK...

Check out the ROLS thread in the organics section, if you haven't already.

Your garden will thank you.
Thx for the tip. However, besides the small pest problem I am dealing with, I am pretty happy with what I got going on right now for as much effort as I have put in. Easiest, most stress free way that I've grown indoor and I don't feel like complicating things too much. I am looking to getting a good cover crop sewn and a auto watering setup like blumats.

Back to civilization after 5 days of backpacking the hills and I'm glad to return to very happy plants. Nicely liberated since switching from hempy buckets.. Gave a light watering today of 3 gallons of water, will water again tomorrow with 6-8 more gallons of guano tea. Buds are very hard and resinous already and have that strong, sweet grapefruit smell. Couple days away from the end of the 5th week since flipping to 12/12.

I made the mistake of leaving my circ fans on high for far too long and some of my leaves are looking a little dry and wind burnt but the buds are looking fine. I will foliar spray with an aloe to try help rehydrate but I think the damage is done.

I'm quite glad I have 8 nice clones of that TW for my next run. Currently vegging them in 1gallon containers, but they are the slowest plants I've ever seen in veg. Maybe not all that suprising though with the mass amount of bud sites. The only places on the mother that isn't covered with bud is where I pruned it/cleaned stem off. I think with enough veg time these could make for a beautiful crop. Very little stretch from this strain which strikes me as strange considering what I've read about the different TW's. Has anyone grew the 'wreck?

Top three are the xxx hybrids, bottom pic is the little trainwreck, its really packing on the bud now..

Day 38 of 12/12.

Regards,

Ck.

Top dressed with about a half inch of ewc, going to water it in tomorrow, also added another 100 or so worms from my vermi bin. After I water in the ewc I am thinking that I will cover with a green mulch consisting of all wild/organic dandilion, nettle, clover, alfalfa, and Canadian Thistle with a dash of yard compost. My only concern is spiking the nitrogen in the last week or two of flowering by doing this.. Anyone?

Regards,

Ck.

Top dressed today with some more nice black yard compost, mixed it in with the EWC from yesterday and watered with 8 gallons of fresh rainwater.

Planning to chop the main colas of the xxx plants next weekend (50days) and letting the bottoms go a bit longer as i wait for the trainwreck to finish, probably another 4 weeks. At that point the Super Silver should be close, I will chop it and replant my bed with 6 Trainwreck and 2 super silver clones setting the timer back to 18/6 for a week or so before flowering those.

I'm looking for some new strains to try and there's so much out there that I am having trouble deciding. Should I go Sannies, TGA/Sub, Dr.GT, Mr.nice, Positronics, GHS, ect...? Not scared to dish out good coin for good genetics but who's are best?

Thx folks,

Ck.

Mr.Nice has some nice gear. If you like hybrids check out Beanhoarder at Hemp Depot. Can't beat the prices and has alot of nice choices.

I really liked DNA's Cannalope Kush. Is there something similar I should try? I like the sativa buzz and great taste. The CKush seemed to have just enough indica in it to give the buzz the holding power but yet it seemed to be energetic to me. Perfect really, I might try it again actually, only this time in this setup instead of hempys. I'm sure it would be even better!

Was also reading something about Sannies having a sativa Blueberry, that kinda grabs my attention. I will have to do some reading on this strain..
