The whole reason of rec being legal now is that it is LEGAL. Come down here buy some legal bud, smoke it go to a concert, go down to 16th street. You're going to have fun regardless of what the price of cannabis is down here. You get to make history as buying from one of the first legal shops in the US and get to legally smoke it in private. So what if the prices are higher than the street? fuck it, I don't agree with it, but if I weren't growing I would be 100times more likely to buy from a shop than a dealer.

After dealing with many black market dealers for the past 30 years, mostly selling Mexican brick weed, the ability to buy killer bud legally if refreshing and frankly something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. The fact we can grow it legally is icing on the cake, pinch me, this must be a really good dream.

Its all supply and demand right now-
The number of rec shops, however steadily increasing, is still pretty small. The few shops selling to the general public are not adjusting prices to reflect taxation because the don't have to yet.
Once shops start to undercut each other prices will fall across the state.
If i was planning a visit to our great state I would wait it out for 6-8 more months and watch the market. The state website provides information regarding what businesses are currently licensed to do what.

Summertime is the worst time of year for supply and I think this summer will be worse than usual. It didn't have to be this way, but Denver isn't taking any applications for rec grow ops from people who don't already have a MIP or an OPC until 2015 and most of the other cities are also behind the ball on the roll-out. I'd be willing to get a rec grow op going if I wasn't excluded from the marketplace this year. Did they think all of this rec bud and trim would magically fall out of the sky?

True that. If someone visits my state they will pay about the same amount as they did back home on the black market. Upside is that our state will have improved educational system from those tax dollars. I have a child that will start school in three years so I am optimistic.

Gotta remeber sonething!! Its not LEGAL AT ALL!! BIG DIFFRNCE WITH SOMETHING BECOMJNG LEGAL AND IT BEING DECRIMINALIZED!!! until the feds lift the bs laws iy will never be "LEGAL" no matter what your town/cojnty or state say!! In Holland its not LEGAL either or in BC! its just decriminalized and dont bother with it as long as you play by the so called "laws"

I would go without before I paid 50/g. Wait til the outdoor harvest +2 weeks around mid oct. The prices should drop a little if not there are a ton of people on craigslist that will come to your hotel and deliver. I was at the first Denver cannabis cup in 2013 and once my group ran out that's how we resupplied. I wanna say we paid 15-20/g for some kick ass golden goat. He also had edibles and concentrates. Hell now that I think about it even the hotel desk man was trying to sell us some grape ape but he was about 20 more a 1/8th than I thought I wanted to pay at the time. For that matter you could shop on denvers craiglist before you even leave home and have it all set up when you get there.

youre never going to get robbed walking into a shop.
you might get robbed setting up illegal deals on craigslist. it has even led to shootings in denver, even when the people met in a public place.
if youre coming out here on vacation - a real vacation and not just to stock up on cannabis products - then an extra couple bucks in taxes should be no big deal and will prevent any kind of vacation or life ending scenarios from occurring. i certainly wouldnt invite some random unknown drug dealer into my home w/ my wife & kid so doing it on vacation in a hotel in a foreign city wouldnt make any sense at all.

READ THE FIRST POST. Dude is looking for wax, and the subsequent prices about grams refer to that, not flowers.
Which btw... 50/g for wax seems a lil high. I can get lots of fire shatter for 50 or less from top notch shops. Wax is even cheaper usually.
Now if you wanna talk flowers... Looking anywhere from $100-$300 per oz depending on the quality and location. And trust that the 300/oz stuff is godlike compared to that bullshit ya'll pay out the ass for.

I have a problem with this. WTF is wrong with buying weed from your friends?! I don't have a storefront; how does that make me a second class citizen, an undesirable- or make dealing with me in any way dangerous or sketchy?!
EDIT; I think I clicked the wrong post, so I'm not responding directly to the above- but my point stands. I'd MUCH rather support my friends than some faceless corporation. ANYTIME!

It all depends on what you are talking about here. You are talking about buying from people that you know. They were talking about buying from people that you do not know. Either off the street or CL or whatever. And that buying from a 100% (state)legal regulated retail store is about as safe as it gets.
Also, you talking about buying weed from your dealer friends? Cuz that is different from buying from your homegrow or caregiver friends, lol. Actually I'm fairly sure it's legal for a caregiver to sell to a medi patient even if they aren't their specified provider(correct me on this?). And it's also legal for adults to give one another weed, so that's cool. lol.
