odor control in a closet with no access to outside air

i can buy a 10x25 roll. ill cut it in half an use a zipper kit. ill wrap it around the space and cover the walls with it. will prevent mold and good reflect.ill have enough left to cover the carpet. i cant remove it so best to cover it to catch spills an what not.
When you cover the carpet, fold the material upwards at the walls and corners, so it holds spillages.

And try and keep your ducting as straight as possible. Avoid 90 degree bends (airflow).

Ona gel works great! I wouldn't put it in your closet, but in the room the closet is in. I'm always amazed at how well it works and I always know as soon as it runs low. I would never grow without it.

What size do you use?

How long does it last?

i suck at math. how do i know what size carbon filter i need with a 400w hps. i think most cooltubes are 6 inch ay 400w but i could be wrong on that. would a 4 inch fan and filter work on a 3x3 area? or just go for the larger size and forget about it for a year?

length x width x height gives you cubic area, or the volume of your room. fans are listed as CFM (cubic feet per minute) and that tells you how many cubic feet of air it can exchange per minute. However, no dinky 6inch inline fan for $25 (duct boosters) is going to actually pull what it says it will, they boost air that is already moving.

the short answer: medical state and home protection plan (not lethal, neighbors). My house stinks, but my neighbors all like me and if their walk needs shoveling or their car is stuck, or if it's trash day and I'm lurking in the shadows until they go to take it out and I run over to help, or you ask how retirement is, you ask how the dogs are, you ask how the kids are....or if they want my right testicle and first born child...you get it. The guy next door works for the NSA...we don't talk a lot but we're cool. Not being the stereotypical pot head is the best thing we can all do for cannabis! Tip your freaking mailman if you grow and say hi, offer them water, etc....they are federal employees.

I do, however, constantly consider investing in scrubbers just in case some passing hoodlum catches a whiff...or if I want to have a bonfire in spite of our outdoor burn ban in my city....just because it's legal and I follow my numbers doesn't mean a cop won't smash and grab everything if they are there for another reason, that's how they roll.

I've streamed some of the videos for you because I have home internet and I can give you some information...this is the American way, I suppose. Dedicated scrubbers, which are just large fans attached to carbon filters and ported out of the room seem the way to go. Some people have the filter, the fan, then the light, and the exhaust after that. That's going to pull hot stinky air out, throw it across the light, and expel it. This is where pressure comes in though. some say that you need twice the intake (4 inch fan, 8 inches of intake), perfect when most tents have one upper hole and two lower of the same size. You can do an active intake though, where you have a fan going in and a fan going out. Luckily, there are a lot of text based threads that can tell you more about scrubbing your air. From what I have seen though, pressure and its effects on the efficiency of your fan is a pretty hot button issue in scrubbing....I had a tent that looked like a balloon - or a soft top jeep with the A/C on - and it didn't seem to hurt the plants. The ventilation guys are hard core so I hope they don't rip my pseudo advice up too much. Good luck, they're engineers. Sure, you could go right to them, but they don't have people skills, I'm good at dealing with people (going for that office space joke here).

Happy growing!

im gonna use an area of 3x3 by 12 feet tall. im more worried about a good fan that isnt too expensive for venting with a carbon filter. im going to duct a cool tube to a carbon filter an fan. vent the clean hot air into my kitchen.

if i understand correctly you have to blow air past cooltube an into the filter. not pull as that takes a much stronger fan. the closet is huge so im not too worried about an intake. i use powered intakes in cabs mostly where passive isnt an option.

i have lots to learn about venting with a scrubber and cool tube. ive never used a hps before. i was a cfl cab grower for a couple years. any and all info greatly appreciated. thank you for taking the time to read and or post for me.

I don't use the big buckets, I forget the exact size but the ones I use are maybe about a gallon? Just a little bucket with a lid and handle. They last me about a month if I run a fan behind it and leave the lid off. If I leave it cracked it can last up to two months. I usually leave one outside the room the tent is in, and I keep one to open up when I open my tent. I also leave one cracked in my veg area-I have to leave the window cracked and if I don't use ona you can smell them in my driveway-go figure, it's my plants in veg that I worry about stinking, lol. But it works great, and it's not over powering. I know when my 'veg bucket' is running low because I'll start to smell them in my driveway again :)

There always going to be someone who doesn't like you one day, or someone who did like you but doesn't like you anymore.

That's why I'm taking a break, lol. And next time.

I want it to be so stealthy, that even I forget I'm growing.

I would go 6 inches minimum for your space with 12 ft ceilings.

I would go with a air cooled hood over a Cool tube.

I would have a dedicated fan on the light and one on the Filter.

Good filters inc. Presh and Rhino.

The recomennded fan would be an RVK.

I would consider an Ozone Generator for outside the room (it kills smells and other things).

id like to know why the cooltube isnt a good idea? are they for a smaller space?

the ozone generator makes sense for my living room. what fan is a rvk? is that a vortek fan?

thank you very much for your thoughts.

What's up Jp?I just wanted to say I grow in my bedroom closet and exhaust through a hole in the ceiling that I mounted a fan over and the intake is the 1" gap under the doors(room temp 75ish).It's a double door closet 2x5x9 but I only have about 5ft of grow space with the shelf and lights. Now, my attic is vented so exhaust takes care of the smell too:)and during texas summers with all 40 cfls going it gets about 90ish at the tops but normally around 82-85.GL

awesome good hearing of your success. a small business shares the attic with me so i have to make sure no weed smell escapes. the guy smokes weed but he has customers come and go and i dont take risks with security.

i dont let even my best friends know i grow. i dont allow anyone to know or see my grow area ever. thats why i talk on here. gets all my questions answered without bringing in outsiders. at no time will i ever have a stinky house. i started growing stealth 4 years ago. i do everything i can to be safe. no light from the closet, no cords under the closet door, no smell, no visitors. its just how i grow.
