280W Apollo8 vs. A51 XGS 190

Call me crazy but the apollo side looks healthier and fuller with more resin to me.
Ok...you're crazy! :bigjoint:

It could be the shitty pictures...I'm just taking them on my phone. I'll try to shoot the next update with a real camera for a better view.

I think they're about even, in height, and smell and resin production. The XGS one is bushier and drinks more. The flower development is more "typical" on the XGS side, with nice shape, the flower tips taking on an upside down cone shape. There are more flower sites on the XGS side too. The flower development on the Apollo side is a little weird, the flowers aren't as uniform and have a more mutated look to them, with the "hash tip" effect on many tips of the flowers.

It does appear that the Apollo side is developing a larger top flower than the XGS...and perhaps it is a little larger on top at this point, but the XGS side just has more flower sites...which are all developed nicely. The lower flowers on the XGS side are comparatively better developed than the Apollo side.

And remember, the Apollo draws 95W more at the plug than the XGS. :)

Still here...still growing away. Both sides have browning hairs, and are starting to smell up nicely. I've got the Apollo side plant right under the Apollo for the remaining 3 weeks, as my lovely hash plants finished up earlier this week, and I'm not ready to put anything else under there yet.

And speaking of hash plant...these are some of the side branches from the lanky ones I had lurking in the back under the Apollo. Really low # of leaves, super hard, dense, frosty flowers. I harvested the top 1/2 of the plant a few days before. These were just ripening up a bit more before I hacked them all down.

I've been out in the batcave tinkering the past couple nights after the wee ones go to bed...been creating.

I'm creating my own organic/hydroponic setup using ebb & flow technique to water the lower roots, but being hand fed organic nutes, similar in concept to this: http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/1534.html

Difference is I'm making the buckets self-contained e&f units, instead of a flood tray. I've fitted 2 buckets with plumbing parts and am starting to construct the e&f pipe loop out of PEX, and will test it out after this Z7 side-by-side comparison is over.

I've been interested in this technique for a while, and I have all of the base ingredients kicking around already...so wtf...why not give 'er a try. :)

We're getting down to the last week or so before the Z7 are finished. From clipping, they take just shy of 8 weeks to reach maturity, about 52 days. And by the way they're looking, I'd say they're pretty ready. I wont be able to take any update pictures for you all until after the weekend, but the next update could be the last for this little fun s-x-s comparison. :)

Thanks m8...its all good! Will most likely be running the HP or one of its progeny, AL x HP, which should be equally impressive. :)

So, the experiment is over, as I've pulled them down, after day 52, which is around the usual time this strain is ready, from clipping, under LED.

First up, the Apollo side plant. First couple of pictures are of her pre-haircut, before walking the green mile. Last few pictures are post haircut.

Next up, the XGS side.

I'll do a rough weigh-off once they're dry, just for comparison sake. I don't have a fancy scale though, so I can only weigh things to the nearest 1g.

Clapping.. Well done looks pretty clean too. My bet is on the Apollo for weight. Xgs for overall nice looking plant

Thx. I'm thinking the edge will go to the XGS too, as there's more branches, and they all have solid, dense flowers.

The Apollo may have a larger top flower, but its not nearly as pretty with its mutant head, vs. the XGS with its really pretty top flower.
