From what I've read from you that you've posted on RIU, I would say you are. You can't accept criticism, refuse to admit you're wrong about something and take everything as a personal attack when it doesn't have to be. You also chose to go the insulting route first, which is why I agreed with buck in that you are as dumb as a back of dicks

Americans who believe in intelligent design; 42%

Americans who believe in the "great flood"; 60%

Americans who believe the Earth is less than 10,000 years old; 16%

Conclusion; HOLY SHIT! Retarded people brainwashed by retarded bullshit believe retarded shit. Do you think that means that any of these retarded Christians who believe any of that bullshit would kill their kid of they thought God told them to? (Gen 22:5-22:8). It's in the Bible, they're Christians who say they accept the word of God... what the fuck is the difference?

Using your logic, all 2.2 billion Christians just turned into terrorists because they believe in Christianity and inside Christianity it teaches that killing your own kid as a sacrifice to God is the Christian thing to do.

OH! Wait!! Not every single Christian believes sacrificing their kid is right?

Well holy shit! I wonder what that means when not every Muslim believes in killing infidels and in fact, most of them abhor it..

Double standards much?
I didn't look up the verse to check because memory and your allusion seem to point to the sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham.

I'm the end, he didn't, he showed willingness to, which is what God was testing.

For those familiar with christian theology, which doesn't appear to describe you, two responses to your post would be clear.

Firstly, the relationship between god and man is different from the old testament to the new. This story is in the old. God no longer requires sacrafice.

Second, within the bounds of the old testament, there is much more going on than just Abraham sacrificing his son. This isn't a Christian thing, it is a pre christian thing.

It is important to the christian past, but not relevant to the present.

There are passages within the bible that are violent in nature.

There just aren't many, and almost exclusively in the old testament. The old testament isn't important to Christianity, other than to show what was, and the new testament shows what is now.

Think of new and old testament like this....

If someone wrote a book on how the american government worked, it would start with colonial governments and the articles of confederation...historical context.

There would then be a second half, centered on The Constitution, the new testament.

wrong. the Old Testament is the entire legal basis of your dead rabbi cult. Jesus clearly stated he came to maintain those laws. learn about your cult, before playing theologist.

Because it's not normal.
Neither are eyeglasses, denim, polyester, music, art, deodorant, or... religion..

Yet I don't see any uppity Christians protesting those things..

So if homosexuality is only condemned in the old testament, and my friend da
n here says the old testament doesn't matter.. why do modern Christians condemn homosexuality as a sin?

Is dan wrong?

"it's not normal" applies to a whole host of other things Christians don't condemn.

If they condemn homosexuality for being "not normal", why don't they condemn any of the other things they would also consider "not normal" applying the exact same standard?
