sorry i was off the boards all weekend, well it depends what you want to gain from breeding the 2 satori, making f2 is a good start because thats the start of an inbred line right there. back crossing to an f1 would be back crossing to a heterozygous plant so the progeny of you bc1 would still be pretty variable youd just increase the chance of finding a heterozygous plant very similar to the original satori p1 mom. look through the f2 and see if you find anything you like that would be my suggestion then cross it with a ful.l sibling and work forward, i dont know your breeding goals tho so i cant say 100% but if you let me know what your aiming to do im sure i could help with a little guidanceYea, that's what the literature told me, I just wanted to hear it "in person" What do you think my best course of action would be? I was thinking breeding two satori then over time I'd grow some offspring and pic a winner to mother. Then I'd have to do that a few more times - Is this right?
Breeding goals are potency and a decent yield. If a problem comes up like powdery mildew or mites then I'd logically choose those that were least affected. I'm limited on grow space and binded by a budget that is fed by my harvests. So, I'll grow out a few f2s over time and keep the mother plant as a bonsai so I have the option of back crossing an exceptional plant. Just had an idea, maybe take some fem pollen from my Satori mother and keep it. That way I don't have to keep the mother plant.
