Rory, mankind is just now edging upon defining intelligence. We really have no idea what it is or how to recognize it.cortex..cognitive thinking was what i was getting at..
you can hook two end of a wire together, and call it a circuit..its still far frome a fuse panel..
an hallucinogenic experience is not an alergic reaction any more than your pain being aleveviated with an opiate is.This is a stupid argument, itching as a side effect of ingestion is an allergic reaction, your neurons reacting abnormally as a result of ingestion also is an allergic reaction.

you can only understand the personality of the chemical by comparing it to other chemicals. How does one know when they have shed the artifacts of the mind/human experience and are actually experiencing the personality of the chemical. I guess the only way is to go furthur, but even then, when you are no longer in your mind because the trip is so strong, you are still in your mind....hmmm
Right..... But mammals with cognitive thinking processes such as apes, rodents, dolphins have been known for a long time.....I agree there is a very real reality that plants have there own cognitive processes But I do not kno if I agree on being part of natures way of comprehending itself.....I think nature already knows itself it understands change(evolution)its understands and feels pain....(survival instincts) and Death(Survival of the fittest)...I think plants and funguses along with other rudimentary life(Protozoa,Bacteria) are the reset function of the world tho....For events like mass extinction?it is said that we are natures way of comprehending itself. Nature always does things in parallel. Shall we really assume that ours is the only species with cognitian? I would not dare to presume that. Plants have no heart yet they are able to move sap hundreds of feet in the air against gravity. They have no lungs yet they aspirate. They have no liver or kidneys yet the eliminate waste.
there is too much we do not know to claim that we are alone on thus planet.
never forget that an ape asked for a kitten as a pet. (and got it)
my partner suggested this and was all gung-ho about it till i said "youre buying the stereo, and paying the dividend on the eletric, plus, only the grateful dead and drum and bass can be played.."
loss of money and eletronic music scare him...
Opiates are a tiny bit different due to the fact that your brain produces all the chemicals that opiates effect. The nausea and hives or itching from opiates definitely is an allergic reaction though.an hallucinogenic experience is not an alergic reaction any more than your pain being aleveviated with an opiate is.
mind you, I would not claim that the thoughts are the same or even at the same speed. Would you be able to recognize thought that happened very slowly? I als will not classify fungus anywhere n. we also know that some birds are highly intelligent. they aear plants. Two differs t kingdoms in factRight..... if you introduce a chemical that has some affinity to a certain receptor or a is in a way interlocking, you will cause aberations in the biochemical action of the mind. This is not an alergic reaction.Opiates are a tiny bit different due to the fact that your brain produces all the chemicals that opiates effect. The nausea and hives or itching from opiates definitely is an allergic reaction though.
Your pain being relieved is a.side effect.

^ after over a decade of zero hallucinogens, i've recently been having an ineffable "urge" to reacquaint myself with the psychedelic experience...They truly speak to you, definitely let you know when you need them.
