I was literally just reading this and about to post it in a new thread :). I thought it was a really well done piece which is rare from the media.

Doesn't surprise me at all. They are ready for legalization more then most of us. I'm under the impression that PM owns hundreds of acres of prime land in the emerald triangle part of Cali.

The way this thing's been going down is as follows:

Phase 1. CITIZENS finally band together, tell their respective governments to fuck off, and allow cannabis use in their state.
Phase 2. Big companies with lots of $ take note and prep for monopolization.
Phase 3. Big companies start bribing "main stream media" to run pro-legalization stories.
Phase 4. Big companies start bribing politicians to forward pro-legalization bills.
Phase 5. Once legalized, big companies continue bribing "main stream media" and politicians to gain / maintain monopolies.
Phase 6. Profit.

Phase 3 is almost complete and phase 4 has started and will be in full throttle shortly.

Regardless, as long as our governments no longer prosecute fellow citizens for cannabis use / possession, it's a start I can live with.

Yep i pretty much expect the exact same thing. But I agree anything should be a step in the right direction, and if it ends up being illegal to grow our own still in the end, then we are no worse off then we are now.

The NY Times is calling for the feds to end the federal ban on cannabis and kick that decision to the states.

Clearly the NY Times is racist with all this talk of states' rights. They obviously want George Wallace to rise from his grave.
