How can i jump start bud production.

Hi i've had a giant plant switch to 12/12 4 weeks ago, sex was shown in the first week and pistils and hairs were found, however, i think due to light leaks or light interruptions, buds weren't forming even after 4 weeks, I finally took care of the light leak problem a week ago as I only found out recently. Is there any way to jump start its bud forming phase?

I've been reading multiple ideas. To go 11day/13night for a while. Or 36 hours darkness. or 8/8/8.

I've not tried any of these, as i'm not sure which to go for as there are too much varied responses.

My main concern now is that the plant is growing taller by the day and almost hitting my ceiling height, i need it to chill out and start making buds more. Im only 9 more inches away from the light and the lights cant get any higher at this point.

Any suggestions? Should i cut the top of the plant off if it gets too close? How should i jump start its flowering/budding phase?

BTW heres my grow specs:
Plant variety: Amnesia Haze
Grow type: DWC
PH: 5.7 (last measured)
PPM: 1400 (last measured)

Thank you everyone for any help given :) All responses are greatly appreciated!!

no not really.. but if u find the light leaks.. fix them.. but the thing is . u need to get in ur room.. with lights out.. let ur eyes adjust to the dark.. 15-30mins.. of dark .. and then u can see every pinhole light leak.. fix that.. then restart...

we need some pictures to tell you if its worth keeping going on this plant.. if its still in veg.. I would take it.. clone huge branches of it ... after they root.. put them in 1 gallon grow bags.. fill your room with as many as fit.. and switch to flower again.. u can get a great yield.. and have less issues but .. put a pic up.. and I will try to help as best I can

I think your problem is you are growing a haze, they are sativa dominant and can take 11 to 16 weeks to flower, they also grow really tall, you put it in flower when it was already tall. seeing as you already have a month under 12/12, I wouldn't change any light cycles. I would supercrop the top.

Wasn't amnesia bred as an outdoor strain? No wonder shes reachin for the sky. You may need to bend her top down to allow room for buds to form now while its limber...

every description I read says it can be challenging and can take 13 weeks to finish. a greenhouse was also recommended for best results.

you can absolutely change light cycles without causing any harm to the plant. They just need 12 hours to build up enough hormone to flower. To can run them on anything from 6 to 12 hours of light in order to accelerate day cycles just so long as they get 12 hours of dark.

i'm flowering my plants on 10/12.

BUT, what is that going to solve? His light cycle is not the problem. Why change after a month of using 1 cycle and risk the chance of messing stuff up? The plant is already programmed/conditioned to 12/12.

because it shaves 2 hours off every day. in 12 days you'll have taken 1 full day off the flowering cycle. If he's running out of space and needs them to finish faster, that's really the only way to do it.

in 12 days, it will be into his light, super cropping will halt the plant from getting taller, which is what he needs, not to speed up flowering time, which I still don't compute your math.

yeah you're right, supercropping makes the best use of space. I do that and use string to tie my plants down to their pots, keepin 'em low. I just mentioned the reduced light-cycle thing for those saying it doesn't work because I know it's possible and works. I do it.

I never tried it, but I agree, as long as she has 12 hrs of dark, it should work. But, For me, i would never change it up after the plant has already been on 12/12 for a month. Maybe i will test it out, right now i'm testing out other stuff.

i went to jail for a couple days and my plants were in the dark for 2 days in a row, and if anything, they liked it. That's why I always do at least 4 hours of dark with every day cycle, I can tell the plants like their darkness. They just sit and chill. I kinda have this theory that extending the dark cycle can help a sick plant get healthy again more quickly, but that's all it is, just a guess.

Guys here are some pictures that i taken. I haven't trained it much to be honest, only fim like 4 times or so in the whole grow that was vegging 16/8 for about 9 weeks and so far in flower 12/12 for about 4 weeks. Please feel free to give your inputs!

Admittedly they were suffering from some nutrient deficiencies and is now recovering well, some clawing and droopiness still can be found on lower branches but fortunately newer leaves and branches are looking good.

Im open to any suggestions and ideas! Thank you so much hope to hear more from you guys. Cheers!IMG_3123.JPG IMG_3128.JPG IMG_3129.JPG IMG_3130.JPG IMG_3125.JPG IMG_3127.JPG

Pictures up! :> Let me know what you think. I'm open to all ideas.

I find that my branch is a little thick is it still ok to do super cropping? dont want to hurt my plant. Would cloning be a better option? No buds forming at this moment. Only showing sex with white hairs/pistils. How big can i cut clones of btw? I'm open to using rapid rooters or bubble cloner for cloning as they are the 2 most reliable methods i've tried thus far. Thank you for you inputs!

a plant can be easily cloned as far as flowers have not started to form, take some cuts, maybe the top 6 inches and throw it in a cloner. That'll solve the height issue... get your light leaks in check before you flower next time!

Best get tying thats sucker over and it kind of is what it is as far as flowering times. Yes you may have lengthened the flowering time by a bit but again it is what it is. I end up tying my bigger plants over every run and they love it. Nice plant btw.

A couple of thoughts - I think you're a little late for tieing. If it was my plant, I'd top and do mean severely. If you have a genotype that is very equatorial the flowering response will be driven my chronological age as opposed to phytchrome accumulation/changes. All you can do is wait and as insurance - no light leaks.

Why is it to late to tie it over? I tie them over lots with no issues although in saying that I have broken a few and that has never caused a problem either as they recover quite quickly. Just thinking why top it at this point as opposed to bending it?
