They acknowledge their sin to God, ask for forgiveness and some cases do repentant acts.and can you please tell the audience how this happens?..what they do to atone?
This forces them to be introspective about their life and their actions.
Although I know no one (or no God) is on the other end, I pray often. I reflect on my day to see what I did wrong and if I can improve on it.
Any atheist can do this, but those of faith are much more strongly encouraged to do so by their faith, or religious practices.
