Dear UkFreak,
Both the lights you linked are ...plain pieces of junk .
Excuse me for being so ..direct ..in my approach ,towards judging those lights...
Still,that does not change the fact ,that both these lights are using low to average quality ,outdated ,unefficient leds.
Plus the fact that they're way expensive ,for their 'quality class'.
...
To my eyes ,they are pure rip-off.
Someone is trying to make quick money ,taking advantage the lack of knowledge of potentional customers.
What really bothers me ,though,is that because of led lights like those ,
the HPS-lovers / LED-haters really get the chance to 'down-grade' the led growing movement-scene ,\
along with led-growers ...

What especially odd is, hps lovers experiment with different bulbs, reflectors, ballasts, but clump all leds as equal

I'm just saying hold back for the new series that is being released this month since it's a UK company and might just be worth the wait, the website isn't getting updated to show the new range until release day. From what he seems willing to spend the new series look promising, here's everything we know for definite so far;
actual draw around 75w
output similar to (180w) MS0006
footprint similar to MS0006
unit is smaller than MS0004
silent cooling system
next gen philips Luxeon Rebels driven at less that 3w each
made in the UK by GN with no Chinese parts
220-240v only, US version being developed.

Now if they are using next gen lab grown polymers to reduce the band gap to get that kind of output for less watts it's worth the wait before buying something like he linked us to?
I like how Grow Northern publishes the details of their spectrum/ratio, actual part numbers of chips used in the Rebel upgrade module (which the new light is supposed to be based upon). I like that business ethic more than the "proprietary Blend-o-Matic(TM)" we see so many high priced lights rely upon.

Good choice mate, I'm biased though running three Vipars too. Best bang for buck I could find in the UK atm!
Their website isn't updated much now, they are concentrating on their ebay site.
The newest series is the C series reflector units.
Also if you look on weekends they usually have a light up for auction that goes for a few quid less than list price and they have just got a new stock of the 400w(200w true )COB lamps.
If you want advice on which lights for your area ring them or email them and they'll get back to you pretty quick.

Some of my first growth with the XGS A51. Here in the South of my country, Chile, which ends in Antarctica, temperatures in winter are very low (now) and the humidity is quite high (100% humidity, is difficult unless you have an air conditioned lower it to 55% recommended). But still get a good product, I leave some Magnum.

Hi guys.
So I reccently finished up with a PC grow box and got not too bad a yeild for my first time.
Clearly a PC grow box isn't going to provide the sort of yeild im looking for though so I've decided to convert my clothes drawers into a grow box, as well as running the PC grow at the same time, so looking to get this up and running asap.
This box is about 1m in height, 60cm wide and 30m in depth. Nothing big but I'm not looking to go big.
P.S. Thats 39 inches high, 24 inches wide and 12 inches deep.
I'm just stuck on what lights to get now. I ran my PC grow on 45w in total, so I just figured out the ratio of space in the cabinet compared to the pc box and figured I'll be wanting somthing about 3x the amount of wattage I had in the PC. Sooo anything from about 135-200 watts sounds about right to me?
I would rather run LED because of low electricity cost.
Does anyone know of and can link me some good full spectrum LED's around the wattage I need that isn't to pricey. Having a looksie myself but not sure If im on the right track.

An Area51 RW-75 would work pretty good there, but your space is a bit too narrow and long.
I'd say a couple of 135w (80w) actual UFOs. Or, the RW-75 supplemented with a UFO.
If your sq. ft. was adjusted to be less rectangular the RW-75 would rock that space for only 75W actual.

If you've decided on VIPAR you may want to reconsider buying 4 smaller VIPARs instead. You'll get better cooling/airflow, a slightly bigger footprint, and if something goes wrong, you've got some insurance that you won't have to return or fix the panel during flowering and be left in the dark. Also those mystery warm whites they use are gonna be hit or miss intensity and spectrum wise, plan on adding some white LED bulbs to your grow.
UK Freak remember there's a reason these lights are cheaper than other company's offerings and it's not because of greed,( welllllll with Illumitex and BML it might be
), budget panels can be very hit or miss quality wise and are usually on the miss side because of the lack of quality control in many factories in China. In other words don't put all your eggs in one basket and bigger isn't always better.Edit- Whoops, sorry, there are no warm whites on that model it seems. But that does seem like a lot of blue for a flowering panel. Another reason to rethink that panel if you're going to flower with it, but again adding warm white bulbs to that panel will help it with flowering.
