Hello. I bought a BlueLab Truncheon on Ebay from a hydro store. It arrived very well packaged and look new and undamaged when I first went to use it. I unscrewed the top too check whether it had batteries (it did).

When I screwed it back all the LED lights came on and it did a little lights in sequence dance. All appeared fine until I put the tip with the electrodes in my RO water as nothing happened. Its auto on so I would assume it should do something.

Any advice from anyone who has used one much obliged.

Ok firstly please dont think me stupid. What happened is I bought an RO system on the recommendation of a gentleman and a scholar/engineer/plumber etc. He said this RO system is cheap but it gives water of 20 ppm which is fine. Obviously they must of made some tweaks since then because its less than the minimum required ppm for a reading on the truncheon. I tried tap water and away it started blinking.

This is your answer.

The reading of your RO water is too low for the truncheon to read.

First number is 0.2EC.

RO generally has a 0.0EC reading.

Try mixing a batch if nutes into 1 litre of water and test it then.
