Should I water alittle everyday or water every 2 days?

Hey everyone. I have a small plant going 12/12 from seed. She is budding very nice. I started her in a small pot. I am growing her under cfls and letting her have natural sunlight outside also. I have been doing the lift the pot method, so I been watering her about every 2 days. I was wanting to know your thoughts about if I should just keep watering her every 2 days or should I water her alittle every day? I feed her with every watering.

Water only when the weight of the pot tells you to. If your watering/feeding every 2 days its time to move to a bigger pot.5-3 days watering is good in soil.. 2 days is time to replant unless in final 3 weeks.. And I feed every other time.. ?Just 6.5 ph'ed water or water and cal/mag on none feed times..

well thank you for the reply. If I keep her indoors under cfls. I can go a few days before watering again. If I place her outside she dries out fast here in my area of california. She is in a small pot with soil. I wanted to transplant her. A few people say it wont matter if I transplant her now. She is too far into flowering and it wont make a difference at this point. I was just asking too see if I feed her alittle everyday would it make the buds bigger. She is 12/12 from seed and has some very nice early buds on her. She is 5 weeks old and has been flowering for 3 weeks.

Best test is to stick your finger in the soil up to your first knuckle. If its moist wait, dry water.

When watering you typically want 1/4-1/3 of what you pour in to run out the bottom before stopping.

Don't feed every day sir. This is asking for trouble, especially in little bits. You need to water till a little runs out to prevent build up in the soil. Otherwise you get concentrated nutes in the pot. Never good topping up, always water properly.

I would say this might be true to some extent with synthetic nutes, but with organics there is no problem at all with daily watering. Drip irrigation is a great example of a daily (As a matter of fact many times daily) watering/feeding that works wonders without any runoff. There are many ways to water plants, they each have their benefits and disadvantages, but there is no single "proper" way to water, some methods work better or worse depending on the situation.

Indeed, I grow living organics so I don't even feed. All in my soil. But make no mistake even fish emulsion you can feed too much of. Bottles are bottles. Feeding every water is excessive,

We are talking about this guys situation rofl... Focus people, don't just argue for fun. Small pot, water properly. Watering little bits in a rootbound pot not even half the soil gets wet trust me fellas. Wet roots, dry middle. Hell best is to water till runoff twice to make sure nobdry spots in this scenario

Thank you for the reply. When I water I fill 2 of the small 12 once soda bottles. I get a good amount of runoff. So should I water with 3 bottles of water just to make sure I have no dry spots in the soil?

There are nutrient availability charts available which show different nutes available at different ph ranges. As soil dries its ph rises. Cannabis likes wet-dry cycles. In addition, by letting the soil become dryer, you make different nutrients more available than they would be if held at a lower/wetter range.

I think it's a vicious cycle. Someone gets nutrient lockout from acidic soil, they think it's a deficiency, they feed more frequently, keeping the soil wetter, which prevents the soil from cycling at least briefly through higher ranges which might make some nutrients more available.

If you don't feel you're watering/feeding often enough, add perlite to your soil for the next grow.

well she is a very small pot because it was a 1st try at 12/12 from seed. I had a extra seed, so I wanted to try it. I been watering her every 2 days. The pot feels really light on the 2nd day. I so feed her everytime I water. She looks great. She has nice buds and has a nice green color to her. I was just curious if I feed her alittle every if that would give her bigger buds in the end? Thank you for your reply also.

If you want bigger buds, I'd say more light and larger container (longer veg time at 18/6 lighting). You might try bud boosters like GH Koolbloom (liquid during flower, dry in last week or two with 1/2-strength nutes). But, if this is your first try, I don't think I'd mix many variables. Try different things on your next grow. You won't know what "bigger" is unless you know what "normal" looks like.

Most if all has been sound advice but I no my plants inside out and never water till I c runoff I feel the soil and feel the pots I also feed at every watering in lower doses and all I can say is it has worked wonders for me but I must stress the point that I no my plant very well and have got to the stage where I can just about read wot they want need at every water/feeding if u feel this has worked for u carry on otherwise listen to wot the guys have told u....

Thanks for the reply. I have grown plants with bigger buds before. I am trying a 12/12 from seed grow with this plant. So I was not sure if buds are the size they should be at this point or if they should be bigger. I have her just under 6 2700k cfls and I also sit her outside during the day to get all the natural sunlight too.

Thanks for the reply. I was just thinking if I feed her every day with a lower dosage of food. It would help her with bigger buds.
