just looking for helpful info help a newb

so , ive been doing research on ebb and flow and soil. is my first grow but im confident i can handle a hydro grow. just have some questions on how thee hellllll i do it lol. anyway can i fit a Oxygen Pot Systems 6 Site XL Super-Flow Digital inside a 4x4 tent or would i need a 5x5 and how would that work with the reservoir. i will be ordering either a grow tent for soil or ebb and flow and would realy like to go with ebb and flow. planning and going with growershouse . com seems like they are ok not to pricy have about 1,100 dollars to start this and would like to know all the basics on how to use this system if somebody would like to get in direct contact with me and help me thoroughly through this process i would greatly apreciate that! but also all feedback needed!! how do i put nutrients in change the water feed my plants correctly and just how the hell do i use it lol i know i know should have done more research but this is me doing my research! lol help a brotha out and let me know the baiscs also ill be ordering everything in one month thankss for reaDINGGG!!!!1

ALSOOOOOOOO to everyone out there i am open to a soil grow if thats what is best! and easiest! i was thinking hydro might be easier but if not let me know!!

Hydro can very unforgiving if things start to go wrong...especially on your first grow...learn to grow in soil...and then give hydro a shot...soil is very easy to grow in ..and is very forgiving...and a lot better taste and aroma in the finished product...happy growing

i tend to agree with this line of thinking.. not to say people can't, and don't, start out growing in hydro and never have an issue, but on the other hand, lots of people jump in the deep end, hydro, and have nothing but problems..
like scarecrow said, soil is usually an easier medium for newbs to start out in and not make too many mistakes, and if they do make a few, it usually won't kill the plants before they can fix them, unlike what can go wrong with hydro... i've seen people dump a lot of money into a grow, have one or two grows, only to find out growing isn't really for them for w/e reason... so, imo, it's just easier to learn in soil and get a few grows under your belt, see it you like it and is something that you'll want to continue in.. once you get a few grows under your belt, then i think it's a good time to try something like hydro, but what do i know??

I think for the first grow there will be errors with either system you choose. I started in soil, then went to soilless pro mix then to hydro, I do wish I could have started in hydro, but I think it was best learning in soil first. Kind of like starting on a bicycle and moving to a motorcycle. They both will get you where you want to go, but the motorcycle will get you there alot faster.

That being said I use a ebb and grow system. Since you want a xl system, I'm assuming that is 5 gal pots? You would definitely need a 5x5 Imo.

I use a 6 or 9 2 gallon pot ebb n grow system in a 5x5 tent. I am a newb with ebb buckets, but have been using ebb and flow tables for years so if ya do choose hydro and get stuck with something and need help, just let me know and I can do my best. I cut small holes in the bottom of my tent to run the tubes from the res to the buckets and allow me to have the res outside the tent

Check out my Larry og agent Orange thread, it's a full grow journal from start to finish using ebb buckets and a grow tent and my first ebb bucket grow also, there's alot of mistakes I make that will help you not make the same ones .

I agree, it's two completely different things. So starting with one or the other is fine, because there's a learning curve for both. Kind of like sports. Never plating baseball or basketball and choosing one, you may be better at the other sport, but you never know until you play both.

I think hydro is easier than soil, but that's just my opinion, I have trouble with soil (and hydro whenI am llearning new things), but you get better in time which ever route you take. With hydro, I can see the numbers telling me what to do from an electronic meter. That is why I think it's easier. However, some people have trouble with numbers and math so soil may be the way to go. I think of hydro like a thermometer. Look at the numbers, are you too cold? Turn up the heat. That's how I relate to hydro. I find it easy to figure out. God damn I am stoned right nnow. Good luck bro! Over and out.
