I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis which is an IBD like Crohns. It was also a big reason why I started growing for myself as well. After a terrible flair that even 40g/day of prednisone couldn't get under control I started on the biologics (remicade) and being that my immune system is now suppressed by medication it is very important for me to know that the buds I am smoking are clean and cared for....no pesticides!
As for a strain recommendation, unfortunately, I haven't noticed one strain being substantially more effective than another. With that being said, I smoke very little sativa strains so couldn't comment on those. And I also haven't tried a high cbd strain either although I did just recently source a cut of AC/DC so I'm excited to experiment with that. My hope is that one day I can replace the biologics with the cbd... I don't want to be on these "big gun" drugs for much longer with all the crazy potential side-effects.
I usually smoke heavy indicas....mostly OGs. It definitely calms my stomach and eases any discomfort that I'm experiencing. It also doesn't hurt that the OGs taste fantastic.
Take care and I hope you find relief soon.
At the moment my symptoms are under control and I am not having any pain issues. BUT, when I am flaring (aka the disease is active), the cramping pains are insane! I've spent many nights curled up in a ball trying to fall asleep. The women on the IBD forum that I follow have compared the pain to giving birth. This shit is no joke...Are your symptoms server cramping? If so, how effective is the medication at quelling them and or the associated pain?
I have a friend with Crohns and IBS and her pains are so bad that it's difficult to take a hit and when she does consume it doesn't seem effective once the cramps have started.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.
Before offering any health advise to someone suffering from a chronic illness, please at least have somewhat of an understanding of the disease. IBD is considered an autoimmune disease.... meaning that our (us individuals with chrohns and colitis) intestines are being under attack by our own immune systems... not some "parasites."ASAP get either Pet Flora - a soil-based probiotic-, and or fermented products like GOAT Kefir, or Kimchi
Begin a series of Dr Hulda Clark /liver cleanses along with these probiotics
Vitality Science also has an excellent Bentonite clay which will absorb the parasites attacking your intestines
I live with Crohns and respectively disagree.Chrons is not a disease, it's an effect of a toxic GI tract
Removing the offensive buildup eliminates the home for bad buds to colonize
Liver cleanses also cleanses the large intestines, but it takes time to fully remove the plaque that has built up
This is why the entire regimen is required.I did liver cleanses every 3 weeks for a year, then stretched them out to 4 months.
When done in total, better health is close at hand
Sad to say, what you describe in terms of pain, is what my friend seems to experience. Her problem is that it's difficult for her to get any relief once the cramping has started. This shit is no joke...
And smoking HAS helped me deal with the cramps in the past. Have you tried a heavy indica? Also, I vape only. Hope your friend finds some relief....
If you follow what I laid out, you will see it improve and eventually disappearI live with Crohns and respectively disagree.
Most people living with Crohn's disease will live with it there entire lives. Yes it can go into remission but don't say I'm not living with a disease until u walk a mile in my shoes. I'm sure your no dr. But I do agree that big pharma is all about money and not so much about helping. If you follow what I laid out, you will see it improve and eventually disappear
FYI, Big Pharma spends big money creating 'diseases'. They say "Restless Leg Syndrome" is a disease. It is simply a magnesium deficiency.
The sooner we stop trusting those whose sole purpose is profit, the healthier we will be
Yeah I think I'm done.. Before I go. Maybe u can point me to where the grown folks are.All I can do is lead you to the 411, from there it's up to you
Yes, it's much harder to take personal responsibility than to turn your health over to others
Nothing to lose by proving me wrong.
I hope you try
