Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

My super lemon haze which has for the most part has been a wonderful grow, at 11 weeks from 12/12, is still finishing and seems to be having a last ditch attempt at growth, but in a really weird, spindly manner. The calyxes are fat, but then just a few on each bud are growing further than the rest of the bud. I'm not describing it great so please see the pic below - apologies for the lights on shot, but as its a general size and shape issue it's not so important.

I had dropped down its feed a few weeks back as it was nearing ten weeks and had heard you should "wind it down" - could it be that? Should I up the feed now in an attempt to fix this?

Yep that's exactly what's happening to mine. An extra growth spurt. I guess I will have to harvest lower, non foxtailing buds earlier, as they are ripening quicker (and therefore with no flush, which will be an intriguing experiment), and leave these top ones for another week or two.

I've been checking trichs, but of course on these new foxtail growths, the trichs are clear. Elsewhere they are starting to become ready.

I could be wrong but I think that foxtailing and long flowering times are both pretty standard for hazes, nothing to fret about

Thanks. I'm not worrying too much, but it is a bit of a pain in the ass that the tops of the buds are going to be ready much later than the bottom!

Is there anything that can be done to put an end to it and get the girl to finish up? Also, is there anything that can be done to make them fatten up and become more dense?

A further question - on some of the lower buds, which are also starting to foxtail, albeit less so than the top colas, I am starting to see some amber trichomes. Should I wait until the whole bud matures, or cut these ones now, as some of the trichs are degrading already?

That much I know. The question pertains to, on any given bud, the lower parts have matured, but these late foxtails have not. Do I cut that bud to prevent the already mature part from degrading, then trim off the immature parts, or do I let the whole bud go the whole way?

Ive had that a couple of times and i chopped em when the main bulk of bud was ready
i couldnt be arsed cutting round foxtails,too much work for what you might gain for me.

I run Sativa's for my personal. Main bud shows amber at the right ratio means their done now.
Don't worry about how mature the foxtails are. The difference will be a more body like couch lock and stone vs. the up and heady buzz if you don't.

Thanks for the advice and coaching as ever folks. I started flushing them yesterday, and will probably chop in a couple of days. Yeah, I know, some will say I should flush longer and others will say don't bother at all. What do I know? I know that debate will rage forever! But, whilst I would have preferred to err on the side of caution and flush for a full week, I'm a tad concerned that if I leave her much longer the THC is gonna degrade fast. Some of the smaller, riper buds are showing darkening on the calyxes, like a purple strain. Om nom nom.

Simple answer is do what works for you in the wash/finish with water thing!

I don't "flush" but simply water them out for a week or two.
Then I do a complete dry and cure!
About 4 weeks total on the dry and cure.

That may be a simple answer, but not an easy one for a newb. Questions arise in my head such as "will my finished buds crackle and taste horrible because I only gave them pure water for three days instead of a week?" and "will my plant be over ripe if I leave it the extra days needed to finish with water?"

No, and No in my opinion, and it's just my opinion.

Never flushed. No other consumable plant (edible or smokable) is flushed to my knowledge. Like all the produce you buy in the grocery store. None of it is "flushed".

I like to keep the nutrients going till the end harvest. Concentrate on growing nice green foliage and the buds will take care of themselves.

But maybe that is too easy.

I say never drop the feed down any till harvest.
All types of Haze needs to be pumped up with food till the end to gain any density imo.

I dont flush anymore coz i couldnt tell the difference in the smoke between flushed and not flushed,so no point.Nutes right up to chop.
