So i recently got my own apartment and it has a nice sized closet. Dimensions are 3x2.8x7.5. I just needed some ideas or advice on the set up. Im not the most creative person unfortunately.

I'll be purchasing this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004YXDHX6?pc_redir=1408679773&robot_redir=1

I have three 7 gal geo pots someone gave to me.
Then this is the thing thar confuses me the most, the carbon filter/inline fan/exhaust. It won't be possible from me to run a duct exhaust anywhere. There's no window by the closet and I cant cut a hole in the door. Is there any other way of doing this?

your starting right from scratch?? You might be better getting cfls and a good air fan, instead of the hps, that's to hot if you cant get a extract fan ,what medium r u using?

You could use a suped up CFL fixture to get around 55,000 lumens using 100-300watt bulbs, i have a custom made bat wing style with 7 hard wired sockets being split to 15 bulbs using 454actual watts, ive got the schematics if interested PM me. Cost of the unit is about $30 depending what you need to buy and can salvage around

Your only real exhaust answer would be to take the door off the hinges and replace it with something you CAN duct through.

Edit: If you want to stay discreet buy a replacement door and figure out some kind of light proofing on the inside, then put in some sort of heater grates in the door or something.

open the door and an couple of really good fans and kicking your a/c down lower than normal helps

I suggest buying another door, and cutting through it.
No matter what type of light you use, you will need to have a fresh air supply.
You can choose to open and close the door manually to regulate air, but you will probably run into issues during flowering. unless you are going to be home for the next 6-8 weeks. Someone got to be there at the right times for lights off, and lights on.
AlterNation gave some good advise, go with that.

Tents have their own shortcomings in apartments. The noise is one. The obvious gigantic black block in the corner is another. I assume you're tucking it in a back bedroom or whatever... but be weary of how loud fans can be. It's kind of a feat to actually effectively stealth a grow, which is something you sort of need to learn if you're going to grow in a rented apt.

Im not gonna "pack it in" im tired of having to go to dealers and all there bullshit. Im definitely gonna go with a tent. Not one with a window though. I can see that becoming a problem during flowering. And I thought they had fans that weren't super loud

Yeah, they do, they're still pretty noticeable inside a space with a tent though because a tent has no sound insulating properties really. Inside a closet is a little better for fan noise management which is why I bring it up. However, a tent can totally work as long as you have a good spot for it picked out.. I suggest staying away from walls adjacent to other apts if possible... windows are definitely a good thing to have in the same room too...

You can also use fan controllers to slow the fan down, but you need to make sure you get the right fan to accommodate a controller as well. Long story short is, do your research before buying a fan.
